Wonder(ing) about opening up verandahs with adjacent room

I'm finding conflicting information so I'm hoping someone can set me straight. We are considering back to back cruises on the Wonder, traveling with another couple - we don't care about connecting staterooms but would like to have the stateroom attendant remove the partition between our two verandahs - adjacent rooms (like you can do on Fantasy). Is this available on all verandah staterooms on the Wonder?

No it is not available on all, but it is available on some. We are on the Magic with another couple and hoping for the same. I have asked this question on other boards and have been told that people have had 4 rooms in a row opened up and some said they were unable to have them opened at all. So I am guessing it all depends on the room. There doesn't seem to be any lists or floor plans telling which rooms have verandahs that connect to others.

Thanks so much for the reply missyp. I may call DCL directly and ask about the rooms we have in mind. I asked our TA but she skipped over that inquiry :)

Besides the fact that not all verandahs are connecting on the Magic class ships, I'll point out, the divider isn't "removed" so as to open up the whole width of the verandah. Half the verandah partition folds back on the other half, making just a fairly narrow opening between them.

This picture is from the Dream, but you can see how it looks when open dream 2012 verandah dividers open.jpg

I'm glad someone asked about this. We are planning a cruise with extended family and will need 4-5 cabins and want cabins with verandas. It will be a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy. In looking at a picture of the side of the ship, there's a white beam that goes from the top to the bottom every 6th cabin. Does anyone know if that is where the veranda divider does not open? Or is it somewhere else? Thanks!!

Yes, the partitions that do not open are those that include the structure of the ship. From past experience, I don’t think shoreside guest services CM’s will be able to tell you what specific cabins feature those partitions.

Those are classified as the partially obstructed veranda staterooms, right?

We had one in 2016 and I’ll check DW’s pics, but mine only have to side opposite from the beam, which has the opening panel. I thought both sides had panels that could be opened. The beams are on the exterior and they do on obstruct deck 4 promenade. But without my photograph as evidence I can’t be 100% sure since that was almost 2 years exactly and 4 cruises ago.

That would where it is. But it's only on deck 10 that every 4th (I think it's 4th) divider doesn't open.

All other verandah dividers open. Well, maybe the ones between the Navigator verandahs don't, I don't know about those.

After posting my question this morning I decided to just give DCL a call and ask about the two specific rooms I was looking at and yes indeed the partition opens up so I'm a happy girl. They told me they don't release the list of rooms that have partitions that can be opened but if you inquire as I did they are happy to look up the rooms. I had my answer in about two minutes time and I now don't have to stress that we'll have a surprise. Love Disney's customer service!
