Wonder Dry Dock

I can tell you that she comes OUT of dry dock on Oct 17th. We are set to sail that day. Can't wait to see what changes they will make.

the espn club is suppose to change to the stack (the stack will be a teen club), thats all i really know

The way I remember, when they change the ESPN club to the teen club, they'll open "The Cove" coffee bar and open the back part of deck 3 to a family type sports lounge. We were on the last voyage of the Magic last Sept before dry dock, and then in Jan, it was totally different!

I've been told the Cove is also a cigar bar, but no one was smoking in Jan. They also have 4 (I think) computer stations, so you don't have to contend with the teeny boppers having a party in the computer lounge. That only happened once on our 4 trips, but it sure was annoying! The Cove is actually in an 18 and older area, so unless the kids are walking through, they aren't supposed to be there.

Th e Magic was in Newport News, Virginia for her dry dock. The Wonder will probably go there as well.

I know that the 9/30 cruise is the last one going out before dry dock. We had to push our wedding date up because if it. We went from an 10/12 wedding to a 9/25 wedding all because we had to make the cruise as the first part of out HM!!!!

The Wonder should be in dry dock in Norfolk, VA at this time. I have been checking into this, as we live very near to Norfolk and cruise out on Oct 31. I am taking my two DS to see it - what am I talking about? I am wanting to see it as much as them - maybe more!:earseek:

I noted this in another thread...

the drydock that the Magic used last time was the big Titan dock at Norshipco. That's on the south arm of the Elizabeth River, just north of the Norfolk-side entrance to the tunnel to Portsmouth. I'm guessing that you'll get a better view of it, though, from the waterfront on the Portsmouth side of the river.

We were just on the Magic, which was overhauled last October.

The Cove Cafe that they added is a really nice bar and fancy tables and chairs outside on the deck also. That whole end of the ship where the adult pool is has now been petitioned off with an open glass doorway that has a big sign that no one under 18 is allowed beyond this point. We noticed that that made a definite difference to the limitation of children in that area.

The teens club now known as The Stack was not a big hit with my daughter. Although the CM said it was actually a bigger space, it seemed smaller to us and there are no longer any petitions and cubby holes to sit and read or work on the computer. It is all very open and much noiser. And the day we visited, the air conditioner was broken, so it was like a sauna in there.

The dueling pianos bar was converted to Diversions -- an Irish type bar with tvs showing sports.

We noticed a lot more of the wooden deck chairs on Deck four -- now on both sides of the ship.
