I've always been a big fan of Aft rooms because I find the elevators are less busy. But, now that my kids have grown up a bit (14 & 11 this by cruise time) and will be spending more time solo, I'm wondering if I want to rethink my room location for next summer's Alaska cruise on the Wonder. Both the Teen and Tween club on the Wonder are Mid-ship (I think?!?). Getting a midship room at this point would add $400+, so I'm wondering if a Forward room would work out better. If they are walking back to the room solo, they would have less corridors to walk through. Any thoughts?

Is today's price $400 more than when you booked or is that the difference based on prices the day you booked?

If it's the difference between today and then call your travel agent or DCL. You are locked into the prices of the day you booked as long as you stay on the same cruise.

As far as the other thoughts go about walking in the halls, I would say as long as they used the midship stairs from the club to your deck, then walk tour room, they'd be fine. I would tell them do not use the elevators though, only stairs. Just my $.02

What deck are in on? Nothing is that long of a walk on the Wonder. Our last couple of cruises we were on Deck 2. It was nice being close to the Edge if I needed to talk to my kids about something. We don't use the wave phones.

We are on Deck 6. If I switch to a mid-ship room it is an upgrade of Sub-Category (5C to 5B, I think) so that is why it's $400 more. It probably has more to do with what is still available since the 5B room I was looking at is up a deck or two. I just wish I would have given this more thought while there was still lots of availability. I do think I will switch to the Forward Room, though. Maybe rooms in my category will open up as the payment date gets closer.
