Day 1
The Shuttle picked us up at 11:00. The terminal is about 6-8 miles away. We got in the terminal around 11:45. There was some kind of delay. We sat in the van for about 15 minutes in front of the terminal in stopped traffic. We got in line to check in. There were only 1 or two groups in any of these lines. We then got in line and they started letting us in at 12:15pm. We had lunch, the guys signed up the kids in the clubs and my sister and I went to the spa. There were only a few people in line waiting and we had no problems getting a time. We had some time for the pools, unpacking and relaxing on deck before the drill. I like going earlier. It makes the day seem longer and not so rushed. Last year we came from a resort and they didnt pick us up until 12:30.
The send off party got rained out. It definitely is more fun outside. The rain stopped so we were able to go up on the deck to leave port. We saw a lot of stringrays, a manatee and dolphins as we were leaving port. Then we went to sign up for hair-braiding for my niece at 5:30 outside the theater/shops. There was a longer line here than for the spa. She got a 10:30 appointment for that night. The girl did a beautiful job. She did a crown for $22.
The comedy/magic was very good. Kind of goofy with a lot of bad jokes but in a very funny way. The adults and children all enjoyed it.
Unfortunately the storm hit at out 2nd sitting dinner at AP. I was pretty sea sick and couldnt eat much. This is my least favorite menu. Our asst. server, Ardi noticed I wasnt eating and got me crackers and ginger ale. He was very observant.
Day 2
We had a great day in Nassau but it was very hot. It wasnt even close to this last year. It did rain for about 1 ½ hours during the day. Unfortunately it was during our excursion! Luckily, we were on the catamaran sail and snorkeling. This was a very nice outing. It wasnt very long which left more time in the pm. We left at 9:00 and got back for lunch at beach blanket. We only got to snorkel for about 45 mins. This was due to the fact that it took a very long time for the driver to settle on where he wanted to drop anchor, we kept going around in circles. Also, it took a long time to get off of the boat. If you were at the end, you had even less time to snorkel.
After lunch and getting cleaned up, we went into the straw market. If you never been there, it is quite an experience. If you go down one aisle, youve gone down them all. It is also extremely hot. We ended up going back for more cash because most places do not except credit cards or travelers checks.
Our spa visit was nice. My sister had a pedicure. I did the chakra balancing capsule. Basically, you are put in a capsule with alternating cool and warm air, aromatherapy and relaxing music. It was nice, but I wouldnt do it again. You can hear the kids on the basketball court above you. You could always tell when they were all rebounding!! LOL
