:goodvibes Hello all! Some background info on me first - I am a 36 yr old teacher from SE GA, wife of 12 yrs., mom to 10 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son. This cruise report on the Wonder is extra special because it was my family's first cruise ever and we were lucky to be able to get the kids sail free pricng for Spring break too (trip was around 1,200). There were extended family members who also made the trip and include: my mom and stepdad, my aunt, my grandmother, and my aunt's grandson - 10 yr old (so total of 3 kids and 6 adults). I am typing this trip on Monday morning so please forgive the typos because I am still suffering from the effects of mild motion sickness and feeling like I am moving. I would like to say that you REALLY should take off a day after the cruise to get your body adjusted if at all possible. Okay, on to the trip....
We live about 5 hours from Port so we drove down and stayed at a La Quinta. The hotel was nice, pool was heated and plenty big for kids to have some fun. We got a good rate of $99 for the night which included breakfast (which was very good and hot food) and round trip shuttle for 2 people. We had to pay extra for the kids - $8 each for roundtrip shuttle costs, still cheaper than parking the car for 3 days at port. The hotel is near the beach but we didn't have time to check it out, though I hear it is very nice and if you can schedule some time for it you should! Anyway, the shuttle picked us up at around 11:00 and after getting all loaded (this took a while) and through traffic we finally were at the port at about 11:30ish. The shuttle let us out and porters were there immediately to take our bags for us. In my opinion my family overtipped our driver because we thought he was going to take out our bags not the porters. So then my family kept walking toward the terminal when they exited the van and I was left to tip the porters for all of us! There were 2 porters but I gave 1 a nice tip, I don't know if he split it with the other guy or not. I hope you don't think I am being callous about tips but during all of this commotion of 9 folks getting out of the shuttle and trying to tip 2 different groups, my hubby pulled his back out getting out of the shuttle. I MEAN HE HURT HIMSELF! I could tell as soon as he mistepped out of the van he hurt himself and let me tell you - he is 6'4 250 lbs so this was not a good thing to happen! So I am trying to help him, tip folks, keep up with excited kids, adults in our party asking what to do next, ETC all at once and I was VERY worried about him. So, callous or not we kept walking only a few feet to the terminal entrance where we showed our passprts and were allowed inside. Let me tell you the folks are sooo very friendly everywhere here (well, all Disney folks are to me) and helpful too. The terminal was big and a sight to see! There were tvs for kids to watch, a big model of the cruise ship, Mickey taking pics with kids, and the counters for registration. It was very organized too! We walked over to the first counter and because we already registered on-line and printed out our forms, it was NO TIME to get our room keys printed! We then got in line to have a quick pic made for security as were given boarding group #10. As we were wating for security pics, they began boarding the boat. The air was THICK with excitement and faces were glowing! We didn't rush to get anything done and I knew not to worry about rushing to get in line (thanks Dis boards) to get on the boat because waiting for everyone else to stand and wait got us full access to get a pic with Mickey in only 5 min! And we didn't waste time waiting to register kids there either because I knew doing it on board was quicker and you have to go there anyway to sign kids in and get a pager so we got to enjoy looking at the details in the terminal. When we did get in line it took maybe 7 or 8 minutes to get on board, and what took time there was a final security check, wiping your hands, and getting a welcome aboard picture. By the way, the guys who take pics can't take your camera to take a pic but others standing there will galdly do it for you. The security guard gladly did it for us - sweet guy. Then we got to the entrance of the boat and announced our name - the kids loved it (and so did I!!) I was in awe of this boat as soon as I stepped into it, and that level is the prettiest to me anyway. Hubby was being a real trooper too , newly bummed up back and all. I think the only reason he was able to even walk as well as he did was the excitement helped to distract him. And what happened after we walked on board?Next part coming!!:woohoo:

So we are on the boat. I am with my down in the back hubby, 2 kids, and mom and stepdad. My other family members loaded ahead of us, which was fine, but I decided then and there that each group had to worry about themselves and we would see each other when we did and just enjoy flip-flopping around on boat. We walked straight ahead (wtill on deck 3) and I saw guest services on the right of me. I was elated! I went there first and gave the lovely girl my 2 pillowcases with mickey ears embroidered on it with directions for all characters to please sign! I had them in a ziploc bag with 3 sharpies, our names and stateroom # on the outside of the bag,and some candy treats for the sweet cast members who would be signing the pillowcases. She told me they would be sent to my room the final night. So, I then quickly rejoined my family and we followed the crowd to the left and went to Parrot Cay for a YUMMY lunch! It was about 12:45ish by this time and my hubby was still hanging in there with his bummed back. I made sure to keep up with the kids in the restaurant so he wouldn't have to worry about anything but sitting comfortably and getting what he wanted to munch on. I ate a nice slice of roast beef and it was so good with the roasted potatoes! I reminded my family that the drinks that were included in cruise price were soft drinks, juice, and coffee at the table - no fancy stuff or you pay a hefty tag for it! I believe most drinks were 6-8 dollars that were cocktails (and then you pay another 15% gratuity per drink). I had my own bottles in my carry-on bag for later relaxing (I bought a bottle of Kahlua and Peach Schnapps at ABC in Cocoa Beach for a great price and put them in my day bag, slide them through the x-ray machine in the terminal with No problems!!) But really just the water at each meal was great - no weird taste and always icy cold. This hit the spot for that lunch and when we finished we got up and just left the mess - that was nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:
The kids were now dying to get in the pool! And thanks again Dis boards, I knew to pack the suits in my day bag for them. They slid into a bathroom and changed and got into the Mickey pool first!! There might have been maybe 10 or 15 other kids in there. Lots walking around becuase I knew their suits were in bags that hadn't been delivered to the rooms yet  So my kids got to swim and slide to their hearts content but they soon wanted to leave this kiddy area and go to the bigger pool - Goofy's. When my 7 yr old son found the jacuzzi it was a done deal for him where he would be hanging out!! My daughter joined the other swimmers in this pool and was happily splashing away. My mom and stepdad sat sown to relax and hubby and I left them with kids to go check out the room. No luggage yet, of course, but our room was 6553 and it was right near the midship elevator. That was terrific! We then went back to the kids and sat down to chat with my folks. I told my Mom about a shopping presentation we needed to go to and maybe win a raffle. Hubby and I decided to go ahead and register kids in the kids' club. So....we departed ways. Registering at the kids club was no problem and they nicely bumped up my 7 yr old to the 8-9group (he is a VERY bright kid who is used to older kids) and daughter was registered to 10-12 yr old group. We got the pager and left. Hubby took kids to rooma nd I went to the shoping presentation. I didn't win anything but I will say that it was very informative and if you are wating to shop in Nassau then it is great info to have! After the show, I caught up to family and got ready for the lifeboat drill. It wasn't too bad and kinda funny to watch everyone lined up in orange vests :lmao: Afterwards, we went to the sail away party and I really enjoyed that and checking out some more of the ship. Hubby and daughter split up to have fun and I had the boy. Hubby's back was still bothering him but the excitement was good for keeping his mind off it (and I asked for ice from the steward for later). It was getting about 5:15 after some more pool fun so I headed back to room with boy to change for early supper time of 5:45 (but thanks to Dis boards I knew to get there about 10 min after to walk on in and not stand in line!) So I was almost ready and so was son when the other 2 got back, and I was steamy about that (because I have to dress her and she has 10 punds of curly HAIR to fix). Anyway, we all got dressed and looked very nice too and got there about 5:58pm just in time for drink orders. My extended family was already seated and joked that it had to be my fault we were late (even though it really wasn't this time:headache:). Anyway, we were at Animator's Palate this first night and it was great! I loved it. The food was good and the show was just what I had expected. The kids were having a blast and so were the adults. The kids even were adventurous with trying food off the adult menu. The dessert really was the best and getting the trio was the way to go to get a taste of each one. After dinner, the boy wanted to go to the kids' club instead of a show, the Golden Mickey's, so we dropped him off there and took the girl with us to see it. It was really good and I loved the humor of the preshow reports. Too funny!! Afterwards, we picked up the boy and all of us went to bed a little after 10. I needed to because even though I took Bonine and wore Sea Bands, I still got a little seasick. I get motion sickness VERY EASY so just letting you know, but I did see a good number of folks with the patch behind their ear (should have gotten some from dr before I left!!) But after a good night's rest, all of us were ready for Friday!!

Today was Nassau Day. I was not really still wanting to go visit but hubby was pretty decided that he wanted to, bummed up back and all. By the way, he was able to get an ice pack from guest services Thursday night to help ease pain if you ever need one yourself. Anyway, we woke up and put on bathing suits on first, then shirts and shorts. We went to Parrot Cay for a yummy buffet breakfast. I noticed that we were up much earlier than most even though it was 9 am before we got here (remember I am a teacher so this is late for me). The omelets here are good and so is really everything. Hot meats, breakfast cereals, sweet breads, fruits, etc!!!After breakfast, we went to deck 9 where the pools are. The kids went to the Goofy pool (well boy went to jacuzzi again) and hubby and I got to get a closer look at the adult pool. It was pretty with the waterfall effect. We then went back to goofy pool and I got onto a lounge chair. hubby felt better standing with his back and mostly went up on deck 10 to lean over and watch us from above :goodvibes I decided to go to the buffet while all was enjoying pool time to get a glass or 2 of OJ to take to the room to enjoy with the Schnapps for later. I quickly filled 2 cups, took them to the room to put in the beverage cooler, and returned poolside. My Mom and stepdad spotted us & came and talked us into visiting Nassau with them. I will add that the boat is just the right size for pretty easily bumping into your party. Well, I had my map from the show and "certificates" for free jewelry at the different stores so I gave in to give it a go. We checked both kids into the kids club and went ashore with my folks. The procedures to get off the ship were to have your key and picture id (passport for us) and some good humor from the crew as we exited the boat. We saw my gandma, aunt, and her grandson walking ahead of us to do a tour of the island. It was about 10:45 and I wanted to hurry to get back at 11:30ish to take the kids to eat (yes I know quick trip). Well, we went through the welcome center and most of the vendors were just getting up to open their shops. Cute LITTLE straw bags with Disney characters for 10 bucks caught my eye but I didn't want to buy something for her here without her and I knew I was giving her the free jewelry stuff anyway (and I just didn't want to bring them over here yet even though there were lots of kids getting off the boat with parents). Anyway, we used my map to see exactly which stores to visit and where I could get my free goodies (hey, i'm a poor school teacher:rotfl:) The first road had lots of Bahama folks wanting to tour you around, taxi drivers wanting to drive you (the whole strip takes all of 5 min to walk folks) and hair braiders galore! We nicely mumbled no thanks and made it over to the stores. The jewelry was awesome but i didn't get too worked up becuase I am not one to want to haggle over prices (and these folks LIVE FOR IT!!) I got a free saphire gem in a plastic case and stepdad gave me his too. They are pretty and I want to set them in something. We visited Diamonds International, Effy, and another jewelry place. Got a charm bracelet (cheap quality of course) and a pretty silver pendent of a flower and then another with an amythest pendant. These ladies could tell I wasn't buying anything so that pretty much gave me the stuff and dismissed me. I smiled politely and took my stash to quickly get back to the ship. And I will mention that I was totally taken aback that there were no traffic lights in this town. Now I am from a 1 red-light town, but I was surprised that you just kinda ran across the road jaywalking and all! And, as I was getting free merchandise, hubby was approached on the sidewalk in front of the stores for pot or some coke! He was like, "What did you say!" And the guy went on. As I walked out of the store hubby told me this which furthered cemented I was glad to not have brought the kids (sorry for the negative view). Anyway, we went to Tortugua Rum Cake and sampled the cocnut rum cake - YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!! We bought a small original - it was 5.99 and I got a Bahama penny for change which was a nice souvie for son who loves coins from foreign countries. Then it was back to the boat and through the bigger crowds of vendors that were now awake at 11:30 to get you to buy something. We just kept walking , got to the welcome center building, showed our passport and back to the boat (but not before a fellow passenger, a sweet lady from the Wonder, took pic of both me and hubby in front of ship). We got onboard and made it in time to get both kids for lunch (the girls was already lined up with her group to eat). We went to Triton's to eat. YUMMY!!!!! Thanks to the Dis boards again for the heads up that you can avoid crowds at the buffet and instead get a wonderful 4 course lunch in a nice, cool, fabulous atmoshphere restaurant for lunch. The burger my daughter got for lunch was juicy good! Hubby was very impressed that I knew to do this and his back was not too bad since he was able to walk around on the island to loosen up some.
After lunch, daughter was going to go to see Hannah Montana movie and wanted to walk alone to theater. I said ok but decided to check on her. Hubby and boy went to the room to change for more pool time. Well, wouldn't you know she got "lost" and ended up missing the beginning of the movie - she went to the wrong theater even though I told her where to go (hard-headed girl ). So she came to the room to cry and I was there waiting (I knew this would happen).I told her to calm down and she could see the one at 3 so she was ok then and went to the pool with me. We enjoyed some sun and fun for while and then I took her back to the room to change for the movie. She still insisted wallking herself (but I secretly followed just to make sure she got it right, and she did) so then I went to the room for a rest. About 30 min later hubby and son returned. I asked son if he wanted to go to the kids' club and he did. Which gave me and hubby alone time and a nap . Daughter returned from movie around 5pm and was jazzed to be able to tell her friends all about it! It was Pirate Dress night so me and the kids donned our special mickey pirate shirts we had custom made and believe me these were show-stealers! We got to our dinner at Parrot Cay about 10 min late to avoid the line, and sat down with our family to recap the day. My granny especially looked so nice. She had been sick lately so the sea air and sun were really perking her up :) Most of us ordered the steak special they had and it was yummy!! The food was extra good too since I didn't have any sea sick problems (well, we were still docked too) and another tip is that you can get Mickey Mouse ice cream bars for dessert and they are just too yummy! My son ordered one at every meal! Anyway, the 2 older kids wanted to go back to the kids' club before the pirate party on deck so they left us to have some "kid fun". My son told me he didn't want to go to the pirate party so we checked him in shortly thereafter. We did gett o talk to our servers a little more this night and I could feel a bond starting to form! Aaron from the Phillipines and Stacey from Jamaica were super servers and I hope to see them again!
Hubby and I were left alone to wander around the boat. It was getting windy and cold so we went and got jackets for the kids and me for later and our glow stick necklaces we brought. We didn't want to see the Toy Story show tonight so we explored instead. We visited the adults only side of the boat (the Cove and bars) just to get a peak at what was where. They really weren't my thing so we didn't stay too long in that section. And I kept watching folks eat and was amazed at it. I guess because I got big formal dinners I was not able (or even wanted to really snack) to eat, eat, eat BUT I will say I did notice a lot of waste too and that did make me sad. No speech here but I know of a good deal of poor families in my area that barely make ends meat so I try to keep in mind how blessed I am and not waste. Anyway, back to my report....
Near 9:15ish we tried to get the boy from the kids' club but he didn't want to come with us (darn those kids' clubs and their strange and wonderful hypnotic effect on kids :) So we took our girl and aunt's grandson with us to watch the show. Well.... the gandson decided to go play arcade - no problem. I found a spot on the 10th deck to watch the fun that was already goin on at the party. Daughter was with me for while up top and then decided to go down to where her Dad was on the deck below. I was at the front of the rail (great view)and it started to get really crowded so I stayed put as folks all around me kept changing positions to get a better look. About 30 min after the fun show started - great dancing, music, and the kids and adults were all getting into it! My daughter tried to come back up to where I was but she cut in font of folks who were already there - NOT FAIR TO THEM so I told her she had to leave and go back to her Dad. She gave up the good spot and it wasn't fair to others who were now there to block their view (she is 5'2 by the way). I felt bad doing that but she has a bad habit of running to and fro and expecting us to be exactly where she left us when we tell her we are going to another location. So after the show, I went down to the next deck to find the rest of my party and didn't see them. Well in the meantime, daughter decided to go do her own thing again instead of going back to Dad resulting in her looking for us for about 30 min and getting sleepy and extra grouchy!! I found Hubby and boy and stepdad and they were hanging out watching the fun. Aunt's grandson told us he tried to get daughter to come over to our group but she was all mad so she decided to run off (the drama of little girls). I walked by the buffet and it was great looking but I was just too stuffed to eat anything. The carvings and desserts looked great. The turkey legs smelled yummy and I noticed lots of it left laying around. Folks would get a turkey leg, take a picture of it witht hem biting into it, and then just lay it down on the table to be thrown out. It was sad. I got myself a hot chocolate at the drink station and told the family members who were there I was ready for bed and wasn't chasing the girl any more, she knew the room #. So we all headed off to bed. I got there first and the girl came in maybe 5 min behind me rad in the face and puffy eyes, screaming why did I leave her? I calmly told her that she left me, then did her own thing and was mad we weren't waiting on her hand and foot for her return. I told her she could do her own thing on the ship but we wanted to have fun too - not track her down the whole trip. Well, not even 5 min after this discussion - Dad and son returned to room where Dad told me he found her before they made it to the room and she told him she hated him for leaving her and then ran off. ARRGGHHH! It was 11ish by now so I said get your behinds in the bed and go to sleep. But I guess some drama is expected on vacations with excitement and late bed times. By the way, I felt some motion at supper so I took another Bonine then and it helped to ease off the sickness. I slept great. Next report on Saturday - Castaway Cay!!!!!!

We woke up and got to Breakfast at around 8:30ish I think because I knew it was important to get on the beach early to get good seats, thanks Dis boards! So we went to Tritons for breakfast - YUMMYY!!! I could eat in this restaurant everyday! The waffles and meats were so good and chocolate doughnuts!!:goodvibes After eating, Hubby got bag of snorkel gear and I had bag of sunscreen and other for beach. We took keys and passports just in case for security check. When we walked off the boat it was just beautiful - the water, the palms, the sand, the Flying Dutchman ship was there, etc, etc, etc! The tram was there and we loaded it. We saw people getting pics with characters and I really wanted one with Captain Jack but the kids refused :sad2: So....I didn't press it just went with the flow. We got off the tram and I sized up the location pretty quickly. We got a lounger on the back row near the lifeguard side for safety, at the back to be near Cookies BBQ and bathrooms, and could see snorkeling area very easily too. Daughter and I went to swing in hammocks very awhile. Folks were already saving seats and prime spots were going fast. After our relaxing swing, I noticed that it was getting pretty full with folks claiming lounge chairs too. I was glad we were already set-up. Son made friends with some boys at the beach who were shoveling in the sand. I wish I had brought sand toys but thought we would be swimming more. Well, the kids got in and so did hubby but me???? NO!!!!! That water had to be 50-60 degrees cold. I don't speak any other languages but I know exactly what folks were saying in their native tongue about it :rotfl: It was pretty though and I would loved to have swam in it, I understand why folks will pay more to get there in the summer months! :upsidedow Well, anyway hubby and kids got out in the water and attempted to snorkel for a bit. The boy got out becuase he was just too cold. I went back to the lounger and son played in the sand. DO wear sandals on the sand becuase those shells can be quite sharp and not very comfortable to walk on bare-foot in my opinion. The rest of my crew finally made it to the beach, except for grandmother who wanted to chill out on board. Stepdad and aunt's grandson borrowed some masks from us and went to snorkel with my hubby and daughter. The four of them had fun even though it was COLD!!!! I enjoyed time with aunt and mom in the lounger. One thing I will comment on here was that it was ridiculous how much booze was being pushed by Disney. Everywhere you went - the theater, the pool, the beach, the restuarants, EVERYWHERE - they wanted you to buy a cocktail or beer. It did get a bit annoying to me. And trust me there were plenty of folks buying it in buckets! So Disney definitely made some money. Moving on...
Around 11ish my mom and stpedad were ready to get back on board and so was my son - the jacuzzi was calling him :rotfl: So, We gave them his room key and passport and no problems with the 3 of them getting back on the boat. The 5 of us left kinda hung out on the beach. Daughter once again decides to do her own thing when we decide to eat. We decide to go to eat at Cookies and told her as she is walking up to the chairs. We tell her to grab a shirt and put on flip-flops. We walk over there as she decided to sit down and mess around a min or two. Well, once again she is seperated from us and by the time she comes to that area somehow didn't see us in line for food. I can't beleive it becuase we were at the first line in front where you couldn't miss us (I am 5'8 and Dad is 6'4 so it isn't like we are small and you can miss us) and we were in line I know almost 7 or 8 min getting food off the buffet. The burgers were good and the BBQ ribs so juicy!! The choc. chip ice cream was the best and the strawberry frozen yogurt ice cream was smooth and yummy too (could get it on cone or in a cup). Se hubby and I , aunt and her grandson all sit down to eat. And we easily saw each other after going to totally different lines and then to a table to eat. The atmosphere was A+++++. Folks wer friendly, little birds were so cute hopping around, and plenty of shade. No bugs either!!! Well, after eating I stayed at the table to relax and rest of group left. Naturally it was then that the girl spots me and comes to complain about how we abandoned her, stupid island she got lost on, etc.. I simply tell her that this makes 2 times that she thinks she is grown to do what she wants and then is mad when things don't go how she thinks they should. I am sorry that she got seperated from us but my beloved daughter is strong-willed and has to learn that the world doesn't revolve around her. So she doesn't eat. Well, too bad for her because I was not letting her drama ruin my vacation. There was a guy walking around passing out sodas on a tray so i get one for myself and of course she gets one too. We then start talking to another guy who works there from Hungary and he gives us alot of insight on working for the cruise line. There are perks to it but being away from my family, drama and all, for months at a time is not my cup of tea. As we were walking back to the beach we saw Mickey and friends dancing with some kids. A woman beside me commented with a big smile 'No one can do it like Disney. Isn't Disney the best?" I totally agreed!!:yay: At the beach, aunt and her grandson were getting ready to go. Hubby was still chilling out at the beach. We really loved its beauty and how relaxed it made you feel. The water was an aqua blue that was enchanting with white sand. Just perfect! I looked at some souvenirs with aunt before she left and they were cute. I was not going to pay those prices though when I knew the Disney outlet in St Augustine had greater deals! They had a shirt and towel with the birds from Nemo daying "Mine!MIne!" and that was a riot! The bathrooms were clean (on everywhere on the ship were spotless too may I add) and the showers were right there too. I went back to lounge with hubby a little longer. The girl finally got over here pride and went to get some snacks to eat and ice cream. Hubby got himself a taste of choc chip cookie cough ice cream and deemed it the best ever!! We stayed awhile longer before deciding to board the ship. My legs were burning so I knew it was time or I would pay for it and it was formal night so I didn't want to look yucky;) Anyway, we decided to walk this time instead of take the tram. It was a nice stroll, not for the severely out of shape or with small kids though. :cool1:About a 5 min walk in my opinion but so worth it to see the area the jet ski play. It was too windy for parasailing and I hated that becuase I wanted to let hubby try it (and me too ;)) I took more pics of the boat and beach and of course Flying Dutchman. Such a cool ship - I would love to get on it but of course it is just a prop. Here is a neat tidbit - once we approached the ship a Disney member passed us cool wet washclothes to wipe off with -now that was first class!! :thumbsup2 Even though the ocean water was cold, the beach was a balmy 80 degrees and after a little hike back to the ship that cool wet cloth really hit the spot of capping off a day in paradise for sure!:goodvibes
Once back on board, we hit the room for a break. The disembarking video was playing non-stop. Good tips for sure and only took about 5 min to watch. The cruise director was entertaining with a joke here and there. Hubby and I went to the adult pool for a swim and daughter met up with son to enjoy the kids' pool. My mom and stepdad were lounging out by the pool to keep an eye out. Hubby and I finished off with a dip in the jacuzzi for alone time about 8 min before a few other nice folks joined in. I left and headed back over to the kids' side for a small sandwich and wrap for hubby and I to snack on after a full beach day. My boy was so tired that he decided to go to the room with my mom and stepdad and sure enough passed out for a 30 min nap. His eyes were really red from being in the jacuzzi so much (the chlorine I'm sure) so that didn't help with getting alittle irritated and tired from so much vacation fun.The wind was really picking up and it was getting a bit unpleasant to me. The whole trip had terrific weather temp. wise but it did get a bit windy here and there (and with the wind means a rocking boat). So... we headed back to the room to get ready for formal night. I had a lot of work to do on daughter's head from beach day - tangles galore!!
In the room I will say that the bathroom is great. It is small granted but that bathtub is so nice to have. I wish the door was a pocket door to give more room but that is for a speical request/comment to Disney:laughing: Anyway, lots of great warm water for the shower to get her hair detangled and looking good. I brought my own conditioner because we need heavy stuff but hubby really enjoyed the Disney shampoo and stuff from the room. I read they have it for sale in the spa but I didn't have time to check that area out too much for just a 3 day cruise. So after getting dressed and hubby getting a very tired boy to dress, we were ready for dinner at Triton's - my favorite restaurant!!!!!! There were about 50% of the boat dressed up so I thought that made it special for feeling like you were getting fancy for a big-to-do. My family looked great and I so enjoyed making time to eat with them in the formal dinners each night :grouphug: I def. recommend eating in each one on your first cruise to get the flavor for each one - was the big highlight of the trip for me next to the beach. I took my own pics of the family as I didn't want to spend a small fortune at Shutters. I hope that for a future trip they will have something like the picture system at the parks and you can buy a CD with your pics. Anyway, the show put on by the staff here was nice with them carrying flags from diff. countries and folks in the restaurant were waving their napkins around like banners. Great and fun energy! :dance3: It was here that we really realized how much our servers had paid attention to what our preferences were and worked so hard to give us top notch service. The meal that most of us ate was lobster with pasta. The lobster was good but I didn't care too much for the pasta noodles. In all honestly the appetizer taht we got of french onion soup was soooooooo good that it was just too hard to beat. My aunt said that it was the best she ever had! The creme brulee was also yummy and getting it on the trio sampler was really just the right amount with how rich tasting it was. The kids especially had a great time with our server Aaron who gave them braintasers all night and made jokes. It was also funny to watch him keep my stepdad's coffee cup filled all night - my step dad is a HEAVY coffe drinker :rotfl2: We gave them their tips gladly - they were such an amazing team they deserved every cent. I don't see how some folks would even think to stiff such hard working people!:confused3 Anyway, we finished and agreed that we would come to breakfast at 7 am to see them again and enjoy my fav restaurant one last time before leaving the ship. After dinner....
I was able to talk kids and hubby into getting a picture of all of us with formal Mickey and Minnie. I was so happy and the wait was maybe 20 min. Much better than in the theme parks I will tell you!!!!!!!
By the way.... standing in line Hubby and I kept discussing if we should rebook or not. We had gone the night before to the sales desk before the pirate party and got some quotes. The lady was super helpful but we just couldn't seem to commit :sad1: With the economy the way it is, it seemed better to wait to make sure we truly could afford another trip and maybe a better deal would come our way than she offered, hey you never know!!:lovestruc So after the pics, the kids wanted to go where?????? Of course, the kids club and we went to the show Dreams. It was :cloud9: - I can see why it is a top notch show! I loved the musical renditions of the lion king and little mermiad the best!! There were some annoying families behind us though that kept talking and folks walking up and down the aisle that put a damper on it but aside from them, it was well worth the go see!!!! After the show hubby and I went back to the room to begin the packing process. We left out just what we needed and tagged our bags with the new Daisy Duck tags for disembarking. We had it all out by about 10:45 pm and the girl was back by then lounging in her beloved fold out bed (the kids loved the bunk bed feel of the 2 beds). We kept trying to bring the boy back to the room but he HAD to make flubber!! We called for Mickey to wake us at 6am :scared1: to get ready for early breakfast. Finally we got the boy to come back to the room and into bed. And after falling asleep............
At 2 AM I woke up feeling TERRIBLE!!!! The boat was rocking like I don't know what!! I could feel the ick in my throat and it was all I could do to not puke. I turned on all of the lights and luckily found my seabands on the first try!! I will say too that I didn't take Bonine this final night thinking all would be hunkey-dorey, lesson learned :thumbsup2 I will be taking it all times on a future one. The nausea finally subsided some (with my family moaning and groaning about the lights on at 2AM). But I know they were happier that I got what I needed vs the impending sickness they were about to hear!! So I went back to sleep and all was better.

So.......after the rough night at sea :rotfl: I can laugh about it now. We got the Mickey wake-up call at 6AM on the nose. Luckily I felt fine when I got up that morning. We were dressed and ready at about 6:45 for our last few hours on the Wonder. After a quick inspection, we bid our room farewell and down to deck 3 we went for breakfast at Triton's at 7am. There was a line there and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. Hubby and I discussed one last time if we should rebook or not. He said, Nah - let's not, so I agreed. The doors to Triton opened at 7am sharp and the busy hustle of servers was the opening glance. We were seated at our table 50 with the rest of our family. The servers were glad to see us and very warm. I wondered how many folks they have that were not as appreciative of their atttention but I can attest that it was not wasted on us :goodvibes And we made sure to give them special attention on the comment card by listing them by name. I hope they both get big pats on the back. Well, we ordered breakfast and got our fill of milk, juice, coffee, doughnuts, etc. I read where some folks had servers who were hard to get service from on the last day but ours stayed right with us gladly getting extras and refills and kept on talking to us, extending our stay longer by at least 15 min. After we were finished and bid them goodbye, we walked to the gangway and had our card slid one last time by security to sign us out of the ship. Inside the terminal we met a porter who gladly loaded our bags and led us to the customs check. It was very easy with his help - remember my hubby's back is still on the fritz. We handed our paperwork/card of NOTHING to declare and our passsports weren't even checked. The porter was ready to go so we hurriedly went with him outside, down the sidewalk to where our shuttle driver from the hotel was at. He told us to go to the number 5 loading area and wait for a driver. He really didn't seem to have his act together nor seem to remember us either. So the porter took our bags down there and put them out as I tipped him for his service. I was soon joined by the rest of my family. Finally the driver of our shuttle arrived - it was about 8:30ish by this time. We loaded our bags easily into the shuttle's trailor that was attached on back of the van. Within 7 minutes we were back to our cars at the La Quinta parking lot, unloaded the bags, loaded our car and was off. It was a great trip and I hope to cruise with Disney in the future :thumbsup2
