Okay, I've written my weight loss goal of 50 pounds here before, but now I'm actually going to tell you what I weighed and my size:

I started out at 180.5 (I'm down to 171 now), about a size 14 or 16. I'm 5' 2.5".

I'm wondering about what size I'll be when I reach my goal weight of 130?

Anyone willing to share some experiences?

I think it's hard to predict what size you'll be at a particular weight. I'm 5'5", 155 and I'm in a 12 right now. I know others are my exact hight and weight and some are in 10 and others are in 14. It's easy to obsess over the number on the tag. I pften feel like I should be in a smaller size. It's frustrating that I
m not, but I am in a smaller size than I was three months ago, and that's something to hold on to. Good luck!

I'm 5' 8". I started out at 159 pounds wearing a size 12 (which was getting tight!) and quickly moved back into my 10s (which were snug, but they fit!) ;) I'm at my goal and wear a size 8 in some brands and 6 in other brands. I've been boucing between 138 and 140 (sometimes a little higher than 140, d'oh!) since I reached my "goal".

You are doing a great job! I think it's going to be hard to predict what size you'll be wearing when you reach your goal weight. It will depend on how much of you is muscle and how much isn't. ;) Keep up the great work though! I'm really proud of you!!!

Aloha!

May 19th at 149lbs I was in a size 14 (5'2")
mid July found myself in a size 12
Just yesterday I put on a size 10 for the first time - at 135 lbs (5lbs from goal doc recommended)

I cant imagine ever getting smaller than a size 10 - pajammatam says I wear my clothes too loose tho

I am 5'5 and weigh 214, I wear an 18 now..

Even when I get down to 135 pound and my bones are sticking out I still wear a 10 or 12!

I think how much musle and your body shape have a lot to do with what size you wear.

I was 142 at 5'2" and in a 12 jean and a 10 dress! I have a very curvey figure (big boobs D-cup, smaller at the waist and curvey hips).

You will look awesome.

Thank you all for sharing your info, and congratulations on becoming healthier!

It's interesting to see the range of sizes, heights, and weights. IGTD, you're right, some people wear their clothes looser than others. I would say mine fit just right (at least right now!), though I admit to owning a few things that are snugger than they should be.

The reason for my curiosity is more for motivational reasons than practical...I am starting to look at smaller clothes thinking about how I could wear certain things when I reach my goal weight!

Anyone else care to share?

Hi Kendra!

My experience is that no two bodies are the same, even if the bodies are the same weight and height. I am 5'5", I started at 218 and was in a 22/24, at 209 I was wearing an 18/20, now I am down to 175 and I wear a lose 16 (I can squeeze into 14's, but they are tight). Years ago when I weighed 135 I was in a size 12, my sister is almost down to that weight now and she will be going into a size 10 and we are the same height. So, I think it all depends on body type and if you work out and have muscles. My goal is to lose another 21-25 pounds, and by doing that I am sure I will be down into 12's once again, but this time around I will be 150 pounds as opposed to 135 pounds and the difference will be that I am more fit now than I was then. The last time when I was a 12 I had just lost weight, this time around I am losing weight, working out and getting in shape.

I also wanted to say congrats to you for losing 10-1/2 pounds, that is fantastic!!! Keep up the great work.

ABout 5 years ago I had surgery and since I couldn't eat for 2 weeks and survived I tried to continue that by eating alot less than I had in the past. I also began walking 4-5 miles per day, every day, rain or shine. I went from a tight 16 to a size 10-12.
I found a man, and got comfortable, those size 16's are now tight again.
As I remember, if I spent $12 for that white blouse in Walmart I had to buy a size 12, but if I spent $75 for tyhat white blouse in Filenes I could buy a size 8.
You can't go by the size on the label because each company cuts the fabric differently. You have to go by how you feel, and frankly I will feel pretty good when I buy that size 12 Walmart white blouse again. Peggie

I'm 5'2" & weigh 130 pounds. I wear a size 6. I would like to lose 10 more pounds but have no desire to drop another size - I just want to have more muscle and less fat.

I'm 5'4" and my sig says 136 (though BF is here and I'm more like 139 right now but hoping WF is on her way) anyhow I'm in a size 8 or 10 depending on brand. I hope to settle in the lower 130s which should put in a comfortable size 8.

Mom and I were having this conversation and sooo much of this depends on your muscle/fat ratio. I've heard of gals weighing 150 and wearing an 8/10 and gals 150 wearing a 14.

BTW - I heard once a women's size should change about every 10 pounds and that's about right for me. I have lost 20 lbs and gone down 2 sizes, I started at 157 in a size 12.

You are on the right path - visualize yourself where you want to be and make it happen!
