We are doing our first Halloween party this October and wondering if any women have dressed up what did you wear?
I was looking for tinkerbell or Minnie Mouse costumes but they seem to run a little small ( I would need a xl- size 14-16) any ideas where to look? I've looked online at a few places but didn't find much.
Thanks

Have you thought of Disney Bounding?

You could do like a black fluffy skirt, red shirt, or a green dress and then just accessorize the BAG out of it!

That's probably what I'm going to do, because I'm not crazy about wearing a big "costume"...

I don't know if you have Party City where you live, but my local store had a bunch of "Disney" costumes to choose from, you can try on in store too...

I just realized you are going in October...I'm sure all the stores will be loaded in costumes that time!

I dressed up last year and wore a Snow White costume. I had ordered it online from WalMart several years previously. It was a short one ("Sassy Snow White") so it was not hot.

I had a blast dressing up. It really was fun. I wore it with cute white and pink Coach tennis shoes and shorts, so it was comfortable. At least four guests came up to me and asked me questions about the park. I answered their questions THEN told them I didn't work for Disney.:)

I dressed as snow white last year too.. I purchased an apron that looked just like Snow White's dress ( off of Etsy) and wore it over shorts and a tee.. I had a headband with a big red bow on it too... It was so fun dressing up.. Where else in the world can you dress like a princess and it be acceptable? :)

I wore my black Minnie tshirt (it has a big red bow and Minnie written across it), black sparkly headband ears, black capri leggings and a Minnie patterned skirt my MIL made for me. It looked like a costume enough without feeling like one.

We did a family Peter Pan theme. I looked for a long time for a family-friendly tinker bell costume. I found one came to just above the model's knees. The model must have been really short because I am 5'5" and it was very short! I ended up wearing dance tights and nude-colored hot pants underneath. Luckily I don't know anyone at wdw. My kids thought it was super cool that we were all dressed up.

I do rundisney and used my costume for that last year (tinkerbell) green tanktop, wings and a green running skirt. dressed up for the 24 hour event yesterday as Anna and just bought the stuff from target. black tank top, light blue shirt and royal blue running skirt. I did an iron on transfer for the anna design on my shirt, but fabric paint works too :-)

The problem with adult costumes is many are too "sexy" for my comfort. I do like the adult costumes on Chasing Fireflies. I actually have been thinking of buying the adult pirate costume because we also have a Gasparilla festival I could wear it to. :-)

I purchased a Minnie costume (dress and shoes) through Disney.com in an XL size back in 2009. Stuff is definitely out there and I totally recommend dressing up. No one thought I was the real Minnie, since I had a human head LOL, but all the toddlers stared up with huge eyes and smiled all night.

The other option is to pick something easier to replicate and do it yourself. Also for a larger size, costumes with a robe are super easy (and really comfy anyway) - like the Evil Queen or Maleficent.

Try Buycostumes.com, or there are some great custom made on etsy, or ebay also has a ton of new costumes. Last year I was villager Belle. I found it on ebay from a costume dealer that sells there.

I went as miss piggy last year. I wore a pink maxi dress into the park at 4. When the party started I added a feather boa, elbow length gloves, pig ears and a tail.
