An Alabama grandmother was found guilty of battery Friday night after being accused of attacking another woman on a Disney World ride. {Tea cup ride}
The jury returned a not guilty verdict for a second charge.
Fridays verdict means Victoria Walker could face up to 15 years in prison.

While I think she should get the full year, I doubt that she will, Judge will probably give her some kind of probation.

My main concern is that my grand kids are now getting old enough for a trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" and I can't wait to take them. But I'm concerned about them being exposed to people like this. I have heard that, on occasions, Disney will "ban" people for life from its' parks.

My question to the board is "Do you think Disney will do this for this person"?

I am pretty sure that she will be banned. And if she is caught in a park Security will call Orange County Sheriff's Office and she will be charged with trespassing. And, if she (and her family) are dumb enough to have rented at a Disney resort they will be given an hour to vacate the premises with no refunds.

is this what people have become - attacking others on disney rides??!!

unbelievable.

someone please let me know what exactly did the woman do? i can not imagine one woman attacking someone!:confused3

Don't worry about exposing your kids to nut jobs at the World. This sort of thing must be pretty rare at WDW. I haven't seen that kind of behavior there or anywhere except in a playground or highschool parking lot when I was a kid. Not to say it will never happen, but it is one of those things that you can't overly concern yourself with because the chances of it happening to or around you are slim to none.

I wonder how that whole "ban you from Disney" punishment gets enforced. Could you imagine being a CM and having to memorize mug shots to keep out the baddies? Are there really cameras stationed at the entrances that are manned by trained professionals that monitor and check every patron?

According to the news article a woman cut in line at the Tea Cups and the 51 year grandma from Alabama decided to teach her a lesson by grabbing her from behind and pounding on her. Granny aledgedly pushed the other womans child as well, but that charge was dropped for some reason.

I doubt she'll get a year in jail unless she can't afford a decent lawyer. Punish her, yes, but jail time seems extreme unless she has a history of violence that needs to be subdued. Make her pay for that families next five trips to the World with on park accomodations. :eek:

And now the woman who was attacked is suing Disney for not having enough security around the teacup ride!

Gotta love our leagal system!

:sad2: I figured that was on the way at some point. Never underestimate Americas ability to find money in all the sleaziest ways. (Or the lawyer to egg them on.)

Doesnt that make you just want to sue her the next time ticket prices are raised. Let's not sue our attacker that would be common sense. Anyone have a photo of these two individuals?

Come on apologists!!!;) She DESERVES some compensation from Disney which has cut back on its security and front line CM levels so far that thnigs can too easily get out of control...Bad show. If Disney feels rightously indignant they will fight this (as they have done occasionally) in the past. If, on the other hand, they don't want their recent hiring, firing, CM allocation practices to become public record, we'll see a settlement. I'm betting on settlement.

Whats funny is that this granny thug was also at WDW with her church group...Some religous values, huh???
