Here's a link: http://www.fresnobee.com/384/story/24029.html

A woman in Califlorida (My favorite saying; another story) aged 28 and a mother of 3 died in a water drinking contest on a radio station to hold her wee for a nintendo wii. Simple sounding enough, but having too much water in ones system is a bad thing; up to 100 cups of Water all at once can kill you believe it or not.

Shocking isn't it??? :scared1:

Oh my god that is terrible. Those poor kids losing their mum

I saw this on the BBC website, otherwise I would not have believed it! very sad.:sad2:

I read about it in the Metro yesterday. The radio station is now under investigation.

Hi

I think this terrible. I do not understand how a radio station can hold such a life threatening competition. They should of had medical people at hand at all times to ensure the safety of thier people. To be honest this should not of gone ahead. I am sure there are other ways you can have a competition. Its a problem when you get idiotic people wanting a laugh and to ensure that the listners have entertianment than ensure peoples safety.

On my ward when giving fluids its strictly written down and calculated. We ensure every patient who is having is on a fluid chart i.e input and output. Ensure the patient does not get what we call overloaded with fluids. This can cause so many health issues and can cause death by overloading people with fluids. Water can neutralise the bodys sodium level and this can cause many problems in itself cardiac arrest, stroke, etc. You are putting so much pressure on the brain, heart, lungs and kidneys. I could go on and on with medical rubbish. I will stop my rant here otherwise I will be going on forever.

I just cant believe they were so stupid to hold such a competition. I hope the radio station gets everythings it deserves. Poor family.
