Woman claims she was groped by Donald Duck at Epcot, lawsuit says

Wait, wait...If I really, truly thought some dude in a duck suit had felt me up at Disney, I would have at first thought "did that really just happen?" but I'd have thrown the most unholy fit to the park managers as soon as it happened. Did she not do this?! The police would have been there that day pressing charges... I'd have sounded like Sally to Linus in "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown": "I demand restitution!!" but I wouldn't be waiting several years for it....

You are so right! Wouldn't that be the same as suing someone for a car accident years after you were hit and not having gotten a police report, or even some tyoe of hospital or medical record documenting the occurrence. This lady should be counter-sued for filing a frivolous lawsuit and Disney should be awarded all of their legal costs and fees to defend this bs.

DH and I did witness character on character groping in 2005 at WDW. DD was in line to meet Pocahontas, who was accompanied by a Raccoon. No idea what his name was. DH and I stood off to the side, basically a bit behind and to the side of the Raccoon and Pocahontas.

I kid you not, the Raccoon reached over and grabbed her....hiney.....and gave it a few generous squeezes. He had quite a handful for a decent amount of time. DH and I made this face. Then we :rotfl2:

To her credit, Pocahontas never broke character or acted as if anything at all had happened. But I guess it would have confused the little kids if she had hauled off and belted the Raccoon for no apparent reason. :confused3 That was one randy raccoon. Hey, maybe that was his name.....Randy Raccoon.

Ive read some rubbish on forums but this is the biggest load ive heard! Whatever will people file lawsuits for next!

And no one but the fiance noticed and said anything sooner :headache:
Sounds like someone needs some cash, and is making a big case over something, that if it happened at all was probably nothing more than an innocent brush, that the character didn't even feel happen.
PTSD, really? From a grope? From a violent crime, yes, from an alleged grope by a 5 foot nothing most likely teenaged character actor in a 100 degree suit, no, I don't think so. Donald was probably more interested in getting back into the air conditioning than in this woman, anyway.

i agree that this is totally crazy!!

both my sister and i have had experiences with "friendly" Donalds in both DL and WDW - we just laugh about it! On two separate occasions, the Mexico Donald tried to do a little "tickle" on my side to get a bigger smile for a photo and his hand was just higher than he thought! haha.
my sister was with me one time and said that the same thing happened to her in DL before! we just laughed about it, and thought about going back for round 2! hehe ;)

people are just so quick to assume the worst in each other and jump to suing - especially if its a company like disney where they figure they can get away with a huge chunk of cash. so sad, really.

I thought you had to be 18 to work at WDW?

Different roles have different requirements. The ages for the characters are on the casting calls, and even they can vary -- but princess and fairies can be 16 to work in WDW, 18 to work on the cruise lines.
