A man owns a wolf, a donkey and a cabbage and needs to transport his possessions across the river in a rowing boat which is only large enough to hold him and one of his possessions (the cabbage is very large). The cabbage cannot be left along with the donkey otherwise it would be eaten. the same reason, the donkey cannot be left with the wolf. How can the man get all his belongings safely across the river????????????

i need the answer!!!! :thumbsup2 good luck cause i cant think of it!!

isnt it the same as the fox chicken and corn riddle? ill try and remember it but im sure someone else will before i get back to you.

lucy

edit sorry i think its different as im sure for that one you could take two on the boat.

ok

you take the donkey across and leave it alone. go back to the other side where the wolf and cabbage is.

then you take the cabbage across and leave it alone taking the donkey back with you.

then you leave the donkey and take the wolf across and leave it with the cabbage.

then go back for the donkey and take the donkey across to where the wolf and cabbage is.

did i explain that ok.

Does this work?

Take Donkey over.
Go back.
Take Wolf over.
Go back with donkey.
Take cabbage over.
Go back.
Take donkey over.

no cos the wolf and the donkey are left alone over the other side. you have to leave the wolf and the cabbage alone.

take the cabbage over, come back, then take the wolf over, come back with the cabbage, then take the donkey then come back with the wolf, then take the cabbage over, then come back with the donkey, then take the wolf over then come back then take the donkey over!!! :confused3 Phew!

Take the Donkey over and leave it there, come back alone. Take the wolf over and bring the donkey back with you. Leave the donkey and take the cabbage over, come back alone. Take the donkey over.

I think...
