My son who is a DLR CM invited me to a special CM screening of WOC last night. The show was absolutely amazing and it was such a treat to see it before it opens to the public. DCA is definitely going to draw more guests away from DLR in the evening which should ease some of the crowd levels for Fantasmic!.

I won't spoil it for you by giving any details but it'll definitely be worth the wait! Make sure you bring some tissue, there are couple of scenes that will pull at your heartstrings;)

We saw it last night too. It was stunning to say the least! What a treat to be able to see it last night. I would have a bunch of photos but they made an announcement that no photography, video or recording of any kind was allowed tonight so it doesn't spoil the magic for the opening night.

I did get a shot of George Kalogridis and Mary Niven looking a little frazzled after what was probably a long day for them. but I'm too new here to post the picture. :(

I kind of figured we wouldn't be able to take pictures so I didn't take my camera. In the section we we were in, it probably wouldn't have been a good idea anyway because we got sprayed with mist several times. We were in the yellow section right in front of Mickey's Fun Wheel so we had an awesome view.

wow, thanks for the review! Quick question for those who saw the show..the feedback I have received is that it is better to stand a ways back to be able to see everything..they are saying if you are too close you miss some things..is this true?

Yes, please discuss your viewing area, how much you could see, how big the sea of people you were standing in was, etc. :)

I'm not sure if the reserved sections will be the same once the show debuts to the general public or not but for the cast member preview, there were four sections by color. We were in the yellow section facing Mickey's Fun Wheel. This put us right in the middle toward the front but not up against the railing. We were able to see however, I was seated in the handicap section. Each of the four areas had handicap sections that were approximately 20 feet back from the water. We had a great view even though everyone else was standing because the area we were sitting in was elevated. Each handicap section was roped off and consisted of a couple of benches with open space for wheelchairs. Again, I don't know if it'll be set up the same once the show debuts.

Most will want to take pictures so if bringing a camera I would'nt stand too close to the front unless your camera is waterproof or covered in some way. We got wet even being several feet back but we didn't mind, it was hot! And it's not like getting splashed, it's more of a mist.

Someone asked whether the show would be better viewed several feet back. I would say yes however, my concern would be for shorter people and little ones. We were in a pretty big crowd consisting of cast members and their families. Not sure how crowded it'll be next week. I have to mention that the whole event was very well organized and there were a lot of CMs on hand for crowd control.

On a side note, it was a very electric atmosphere and you could feel the excitement prior to the show and a lot of cheers could be heard during the event. I think Disney did an fabulous job with this one! I think any WDW vets who haven't been out to DLR yet may want to consider a trip down once all of the new attractions they have planned for DCA are up and running.

How exciting, Lisa! My DNeph is a former CM, so he still has a lot of friends there and he was able to see it Sunday as well. I'm so jealous!

Where is your DS working?

Good to "see" you around! :goodvibes

I can't wait to see it! I think we are going to do the picnic lunch for reservations. We will be there on Monday!!! :woohoo:

Hi Tracy! My son works in TLT (Tomorrowland Terrace) which they're renovating right now so he's been mostly working at the restaurants at Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans.

Definitely take your family to see WOC, it was fab! Now us California folks have something to brag about. I love WDW but DLR is near and dear to my heart.

I'm so jealous! I'm a CM at WDW and last week I was at the cast preview of MSEP - kept thinking "I'm on the wrong coast, I'd rather be watching the WOC preview!"

July 15th seems so far away right now, I'm so excited for this show!

Hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip. And don't worry about being on the wrong coast, as you know, Disney is always changing and adding new attractions and shows to the parks. Better to be bi-coastal!;) Hey, that's why I own at AKV in WDW!:thumbsup2

We just got back this morning and we were able to see WOC from our Villa and it was amazing! My family all loved it. I couldn't imagine being up close, I can't wait to go back and to see it again but for real this time. We saw the testing show on May 26th at about 7pm I think.

I was actually wondering what the views would be like from VGC. Living only 15 minutes away from DLR by freeway, it may sound silly to stay onsite but we had an awesome time when we stayed there last summer. I had the extra points so we did a long weekend for some rest and relaxation.

We stayed in 2506 and I thought it was a great view. We saw enough to know what was going on. I was amazed at how hot it got from the Villa and couldn't imagine being up close. I can't wait to go back!

Yup! I'm already speculating on where the Disney "suits" are planning on putting WOC in WDW in a couple of years.....hmmm....replace Illuminations at Epcot?....corral everyone at AK into a new area at the park to see this? Possibilities are endless.:surfweb:

AK is the only place I can see that it would possibly fit, size-wise - and I don't think it fits with the theme there. World Showcase Lagoon is too big for WoC, and besides, they already have Illuminations, and the Studios already have Fantasmic. MK certainly doesn't need it. My guess is that it's NOT going to go to WDW at all.
