What time would you recommend I line up to choose my table for the 9:00 show. And, what time do they actually begin to let you schedule for the first show?

What time do they actually start checking people in? The official check in time is 8pm for the 9pm show. The whole point (for us) of paying $89/pp is to NOT have to stand for 90 minutes.

We lined up pretty early for table selection, because we actually didn’t want to sit at a high top table. That happens before the 8PM check in for seating. I know we were there between 6:30 - 6:45 and there were three parties in front of us to choose their tables. Being our first time, we also lined up pretty early for the seating because so many other people were lining up, and I wouldn’t do that again. The table is already assigned, getting there early means you spend time waiting in line and then you have extra time at the table, which really wasn’t necessary. They led us out at 8PM, so that was almost an hour at the table before WoC started. I would just show up a little after 8 when they are still taking people to the tables.

I enjoyed the dessert party, but honestly it was filled with a lot of stress with all of the waiting in line. DH doesn’t want to do it again, but I can’t stand for a long time, so we’ll probably pass on it this year.

I usually wait in line to request our table with the family goes on rides. Once we have our table we do other rides while waiting for the dessert party to start.

We did it last year and got there waaaaaaay too early. When people did finally start showing up, the CMs moved what we thought was the line marker to the other side of the pathway and suddenly we were not even close to the front of the line. HOWEVER, lots of very nice people who knew we'd been there for a while pointed this out to the CMs and we got our spot at the front :) Sometimes I have the best times just meeting other people and chatting . After we got our table, we went over to Hearthstone Lounge and had a drink, ha ha.

It seemed like most of the tables had great views from what I could tell. The staff was super friendly and we loved the guys who came around to clean things up at the end. You could tell they enjoyed what they were doing, which is nice to see, and there were so solicitous. They offered to take pictures of us and were so surprised when we asked if we could get some with them in the picture, too. You should have seen their grins!

But the dessert party was a one-and-done for us. There was almost nothing I wanted to eat and while the show was beautiful, it wasn't something I'd want to pay to see again unless they have a dining option or something. I'm a dessert person but those desserts--nope.

I wish I hadn’t gotten caught up in the online hype that there are a few super fantastic tables and everything else is a less than experience, because you’re right, most of the tables did seem to have a great view.

I think the eggnog mini Bundt cake was the only dessert selection I thought was good. We don’t drink alcohol, which definitely brought down the food/beverage value for us. The hot chocolate was watery (I always think so because I make it from scratch at home) and it was too cold for refills of my Shirley Temple. I try to tell myself that the $89 is for a dedicated chair and everything else is a bonus, but yeah, it was a one and done for us too.

One thing about being fairly local is we’ve seen most of the shows and parades many times. If I were a first timer or only came to the parks every 5-10 years, I would probably feel differently.

What time do they actually start checking people in? My only request would be a low table. I have not need to be first in line, would prefer to just walk up and ask and then either leave or be escorted to the table. Is it possible to do just arrive at 8pm to accomplish this?

I usually line up around 6:45/7:00. I always request low tables and have never had a problem getting one. I don't ask for specific tables but one time I wanted a table on the end so we wouldn't be super close to the people next to us and we got that. The CMs are always very accommodating.

At 8:00 they walk the people still in the check in area over to the WOC seating.

We leave the check in area once we have our table assignment and go on rides, then go to WOC at 8. It's nice knowing your table is waiting for you! The earlier you arrive the more time you have to eat before the show, but you could show up later than 8 if you wanted to. I go right at 8 because I'm ready to relax, though :)

Also, you can come and go once you have your table. If anyone needs the bathroom or doesn't feel like sitting there until the show starts.

I'm not sure about checking in at 8 since I've never done that. Maybe somebody else knows.

But what time do they actually start checking people in? Not what time do people get in line to check in but what time do they actually begin the process? Is it 7pm?
