Trying to do my final plans as we arrive in Disnyland in one week!!!

We have Blue Bayou PTN dining package for Tuesday (6pm dinner 8pm PTN)

Wednesday we have WoC dessert party (8:15 WoC)

So my question is do I keep both or should I cancel the PTN dining package? I'm pretty set on keeping WoC desert party.

I haven't staked out a parade spot in years (since I was a kid). My husband has zero interest in staking out a spot. We have seen festival of fantasy twice, both times we grabbed a spot a few people back a few minutes before. (I had a FP but canceled it after seeing it few days earlier then planned). So I'm afraid if we cancel the package we won't see PTN.

It's just me DH and DD (2).

Would you want to eat at Blue Bayou without the dining package? We love to eat there each vacation so for us the PTN or Fantasmic! dining ends up being a bonus. I haven't done WOC yet but am so excited to join the dessert party crowd on our upcoming vacation. The WOC cost for me was actually a little harder to swallow because none of us will really eat the dessert so we are really just paying for the viewing spot, but once I finally gave in and decided to pay the cost I have been really excited. In all our trips we haven't watched WOC because of the crowds and pushing/shoving so this will be nice (but I get it, the price X9 is terrible).

I HATE fighting crowds so that alone makes the cost for me worth it. I would think with PTN ending there will be lots of people staking out spots and such. If it's not cost prohibitive I say go eat a nice dinner and see the Parade in peace. I with your husband, no interest in wasting my time staking out a spot, but if I could just show up a few minutes before hand I would enjoy watching the parade.

We leave tomorrow and we're doing both. WOC on Friday and PTN (we're doing the Aladdin's Oasis one though) on Sunday. I hate crowds so anything I can do to make it a little easier is worth it!!

I'd keep both. We did the WOC dessert party in July and it was great! We did not do the PTN dining package, but had absolutely no problem getting a spot on Main Street about 20 minutes before the late parade. Both last summer and this year, we have seen the late PTN parade (more than once) and never had trouble getting a great spot with that amount of wait as long as we did the late parade. The early parade is crazy! That said, the times we have seen it were BEFORE they announced it would be ending on September 5th, and I would be very concerned about how crazy both parades will be with everyone trying to catch it, or to catch it one last time, before it ends. So, since will will be there close to its last day, I think if there is any time that dining package would really come in handy, it would be now.

We did the PTN Aladdin's Oasis last Monday (Aug 15th). Nice and easy for seating for the parade, We got inline at 7:30pm and were first inline. The main middle section had 2 rows of chairs set up and was reserved for a group (accompanied by Plaids). The line quickly formed behind us. We were a group of 10 that arrived together initially, but we took turns taking the kids out of line for snacks etc. We got front row on the ground seating just past the chairs. When I did this package in May, the chairs were not there. We also, stayed in the space (which you are encouraged / welcomed to do) for viewing the fireworks.
It was wonderful ! I would definitely do it again !

We did both also ..... and yes, I'd recommend doing both. Have not done the Blue Bayou package though.

WOC Dessert Package
We were there last Wednesday, Aug 17th. Fantastic Show, server and the check in CM's were terrific. Overall experience A+. Our group consisted of 7 adults (age 26-66), 15yr old, 10, 9 & 7yr old. The 3 kids plus the 15 yr old all got the glow cups. Our 15 yr old definitely looks 15. It was a big splurge for our group. But it was awesome ! We were seated to the far left, front row with tall chairs. It seemed like it was pre-arranged for the seating, as we were lead to our tables by a CM. We had 3 tables/10 chairs for our group. Viewing, desserts, show, CM's were wonderful !

Thank you everyone! Such good feedback, Looks like we will keep both!

Thank you! Yes we would want to eat there anyway which is why I was leaning (now decided) to keep both! WoC was a splurge but since DD is free it hurt a little less!

Thank you! Yeah I was worried with it being the last week it may been even more crowded then usual!

We're doing/have done both. With the announcement that Paint the Night is going away September 5th the crowds this week to see it have been crazy. We lined up at 6:15 to see the first parade near Small World and by 6:45 (two hours before) it was basically full back there. With our package we were able to sit right on the curb by getting to the dining line up just a couple minutes before it opened (20 minutes or so I think but people just 10 minutes early also go curb spots)

A good follow up (which I assume I know the answer too). Can I bring the stroller in to the package viewing area? I'm guessing no....

Do both...when we do the WOC Dessert Party and used to do the F! Dessert seating we would do a large lunch and LIGHT dinner to be sure we had an appetite to enjoy the whole plate!

We did the dessert package last Monday / Aug 15th and also did it in May.
Strollers and scooters were allowed in. That was then..... just a note..... its always subject to change.

A great parade ! And you can see the fireworks display that are from behind Small World. The projections on Small World during the Fireworks are great !
You can not see the Castle Fireworks "Shows / Projections". We could see the Castle Fireworks if we looked over our left shoulder and abit filtered through the trees. You cannot see Tinker Bell fly.

A great place overall for Parade and Fireworks !

We opted do wait and just see how our trip went. I am glad we didn't pay for any of the packages.
PTN we were literally sitting next to the people from the Aladdin's package and were against the 'bricks' that they tell you to be behind and every character waved at my kids and we had an awesome spot by IASW.
WOC we had yellow FP and we were right against the railing on the upper part right out of the "wet" zone and saw the whole show perfect......
So just depends on how you do it....

Same here! We leave on Sunday; we are doing the WOC dessert party one night and then we are doing Aladdin's Oasis for lunch the next day to get the PTN tix.
