I was so excited! I called back in August to make reservations for this coming Anniversary trip in January (its a tradition as we were married in Disney on Jan 26, 2002) and pretty much OKW was all that was available so I booked that and was put on the waitlist for WLV studio. I spoke with MS this morning who told me my waitlist went through for Jan 25-30th. Since I heard waitlist success was a thing of the past I wanted to post my success here.

Congratulations !!

Waitlist success is not a thing of the past. Processes have changed but there are quite a few threads on which posters are indicating success. In particular there is one related to the Food and Wine festival (on this board) where there are good reports of waitlists coming in!

Enjoy your anniversary at that special place, VWL!!!!

Congrats! :dancer:

I just had a waitlist come through too, so I don't think they're a thing of the past. I'm sure, as with most things, it goes through cycles.

A waitlist for a VWL studio at the end of January !!!! you gotta be kiddin me. NO MLK weekend, no marathon, no school vacations...nothing...and it's probably the coldest possible time in Florida..plus the economy is in the toilet....

Is there something I am missing here ??? why a waitlist...???

I am waitlisted for a 2 bedroom either at WLV or BWV for Feb 5th.... This is a recent reservation.... I'm praying one comes through. It doesn't matter which one as we are doing split stay between the 2. With either choice listed and no preference between them, do you think our chances are better than having a preference?

Can't wait to go!

I don't know, but when I called back in early August OKW and SSR was all that was available for five days straight. Having been in January the same week for several years I was somewhat surprised. I think it might have something to do with the superbowl, as that is the following weekend in Tampa.

BTW its not always cold that week, the day of our wedding in 2002 the highs were in the low 80's!

We were there that exact time last year. Booked late in November at SSR, requested a few days at VWL and the waitlists came through. Try calling and checking as some but not all availability may come through and you may be able to piece something together.

The weather was great. Everyday 'pool day' temperatures.

Slow parks doesn't mean slow DVC and those who already purchased will be less financially impacted with going as they are really at that point of only paying for their travel and food, no lodging which is a huge savings when it comes to Disney.
