WL vs Kidani transportation and pools?

We have a split stay booked between WL and Kidani. If either becomes available for the entire week we may grab it. How is the transportation in general ( we will be going to all 4 parks and DS anyway, evenly split since we are all adults) and pool areas at each? We are DVC so are waiting for 2 bedroom villas to open up. We do use the pools and other amenities every afternoon. Any input is much appreciated :)

IMHO, it's pretty evenly split. While WL has the boat service to MK which is nice (you can also boat to CR and walk over to MK), WL typically shares buses with Ft. W to get to the other parks and feels like it takes forever. On the other hand, AKV is pretty remote (though close to AK and DS) and only shares a bus internally between Jambo and Kidani. They are both gorgeous resorts. Honestly, if packing up isn't that much of a pain, you may want to keep the split! You will then get closer access to AK and DS from AKV and closer access to MK from WL. Otherwise, I would take whichever becomes available and maybe even consider lyft/uber/Minnie Van for some of your travels.

I always see people post that WL/FW share a bus. We have stayed at Copper Creek several times and never had a bus go to FW, even during "slow" midday times. It was always a direct bus to MK/EP/AK, never bused to HS from WL. Maybe because all stays were in November during busy times?

We were at WL in August and the buses generally went straight to the parks. I think there was one time midday it stopped at FW on the way to Epcot? On the way back they stopped at FW first. Once they stopped at Contemporary on the way to Disney Springs. So I think the answer is - it depends. If it's morning "rush hour" the buses will go straight to the park.

Can't compare to two pools, but we enjoyed the water slide pool at WL a lot. We were there at high traffic times and were always able to find chairs. We never made it over to the DVC pool, but it looked nice. I will say waiter service was slow at the water slide pool and you are probably better off walking to Geyser Point to get your drinks/food.

We have only stayed at WL once, and AKV many times, and we shared a bus with FT W every time we took a bus (never took the bus to MK) at WL, and it definitely felt like it took longer than the bus rides from AKV, although not a crazy amount longer. Definitely preferred the pool at AKV, the WL pool looked awesome, but we found it pretty boring, much preferred the slide at AKV, and very crowded, it was hard for us to find chairs together at WL, but it was April and perfect swimming weather. Personally, I love both resorts and would absolutely keep the split stay.

We prefer the pools at AKL over WL. As far as transportation goes other than MK, AKL is closer to every other destination than WL. Both are favorites of ours but since you asked, AKL has an edge in both pool and transportation.

We have stayed at WL four times and have always had shared buses - this has been in August and December (week before Christmas). We gave up. We boat or bus to MK and uber/lyft/Minnie Van everywhere else. It very well may be that they don't share buses around holiday weeks?
