Just trying to get a sense of transportation times.

We will be staying at the WL and would like to go to the GF for dinner one night. What is the best way to get there (we won't have a car) and back. Also, how much time should I allow for transit?

If it is too convoluted, are taxis an option without them being ridiculously expensive?

Thanks for the help!

Depends on how much you drink at Dinner?
One is by land !
Two is by Sea!
Three is Surf and Turf!

One:
Take the bus from WL to TC and walk onto the Resort Only Monorail which will bring you to the GF.
Visa Versa on the return trip.

Two:
Take the Water Shuttle from the WL to the MK and then board the Resort only Water Shuttle to the GF.
Visa Versa on the return trip.

Three:
Take the Water Shuttle to the Contemporary and board the
Resort only Monorail for the GF.
Visa Versa on the return trip.

I prefer Surf and Turf with a little twist of sand in between my toes from the walk from the GF to the Poly then if the moon is out cruise the rest of the evening with My Love back to the WL!
Usually around the time the Water Pagent procession and MK Fireworks are in on display.

ENJOY!

THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!

The buses that go to the Parks Leave WL and go to the Poly and then the GF. It's about a 5 or 10 minute ride. Then on your way out from the GF if you like take the Monorail to MK and then the Boat back to WL.

Or you could go by boat/monorail like options 2 and 3 like MK Familystone said.

No need to go all the way to the Trans Center like option 1 though.

Actually... not quite.

After 11am, all buses are shared with Fort Wilderness, with the exception of the Animal Kingdom bus. That bus will go from WL directly to the Grand Floridian, and then onto AK/BB. They do not stop at the Polynesian. However, since this is for a Dinner reservation, the AK bus might not be in service. In which case, the best bet would be to take the TTC bus, and then catch the Resort Monorail. Alternatives include taking the boat to the MK and switching to another boat or the monorail.
