Just back from a 3-day weekend at WL. First of all, thanks to 999ghsts and everyone on this board for helping me plan. Went with my DW and DS(2). Here's the skinny:
1. This is a fabulous resort. Definitely worth all the praise.
2. Booked a standard view room - requested to be near the lobby. We recieved a free upgrade (without asking) to a woods view, right around the corner from the standard view rooms. We were right off the lobby, 5th floor, MK side (in the corner behind the big fireplace). You could see the MK fireworks over the trees!
3. Transportation - only used the boat to MK. By some miracle, we always arrived just before the boat, and hopped right on. It was a bit tiring to have to stop at FW in the heat, but I would rather be sitting in a boat than dragging a stroller on a tram, waiting for the monorail, etc.
4. Staff (bell services, check-in, etc.) was excellent. Housekeeping was fine, nothing special.
5. The resort is starting to show its age - nothing horrible, but the rooms could use a paint job and some touching up on the wallpaper here and there. Although it's showing some normal wear and tear, it is NOT dirty. Most people won't even notice.
6. The pool is very nice, esp. the kiddie pool for my 2yo DS (there's no bells and whistles, which is good because DS doesn't like getting splashed in the face). The pool slide isn't bad either.
7. Bottom line - would I go back? You bet!
