WL Standard Room ?'s

My DH and I are going to WL July 31-Aug. 4 (our first stay at the WL ) and we booked a standard view room. I know that most of these overlook the service area on the North side of the Lodge, but I've heard people say a lot of good things about the standard view rooms over the check-in area in the lobby. Can anyone tell me exactly what I would see from our balcony? Is it just "a view of the roof" or can we see any of the gardens or the parking lot? In other words, when I look out my window, will I just see a green roof??

Also, we're thinking about asking if there are any concierge rooms available at check-in (for an additional charge, of course). Are there different room views with concierge or is there only one type of view?

Hi. We have stayed at WL and will there the same time as you. We too are getting the standard view. Last time we got a first floor room and it had a garden type view. It was good. It was close to the roaring forks restaurant. That was great for re-filling mugs, getting to pool and such. No it wasn't close enough to hear and restaurant traffic. We love WL. That's my recommendation.
