The difference between standard and woods view is 26/nt. We're staying for 3 nts. Do you think it's worth the upgrade?

Last time we stayed there, I booked a standard and was upgraded to courtyard without even asking. If there's a good chance of getting upgraded from standard anyway, I don't want to pay the extra if I don't have to.

I had booked woodsview for 9 nights, but realized for less money, I could get 10 nights standard view-so now we have 10 nights instead of 9!!!! :cool1:

We didn't spend much time on our balcony last trip, so I don't mind...and hey, ya never know, pixie dust could come our way to upgrade us... :confused3

We loved woods view because we have small kids who don't stay up late for the fireworks. My husband and I would put the kids to bed and watch the MK fireworks from our 5th floor balcony every night and then watch the water parade, OUTSTANDING!!!! Only wish a code would come out so we could afford to go back again.

We had a woodsview which actually was a couple of trees beyond a parking lot. It was January and in the 40's and 50's most of the week so we didn't sit on the balcony at all! We WERE able to see the castle and Wishes if we squinted really hard. We enjoyed the room, but I didn't think we utilized the view enough to justify the money. We are in the lobby area most of the time!

So it's standard view this next trip!

We always book standard & have never been dissappointed. We are not really in the room long enough to care about the view.

But we have just been lucky. Each time we have booked standard we have been able to see the fireworks from our balcony/patio.

We did splurge once & booked conceirge. Looking directly across you could see a full view of the castle. But looking directly down we were over a parking lot with dupsters & trucks! Every morning we heard delivery trucks at God awful hours.

But even then, we were just happy to be there. I dont care what I am looking at. Most of my time is spent in the parks or enjoying the resort. I am only in the room to sleep.

Wow! I would have been mad!! All that money and you wake up to delivery trucks!

We booked standard for our trip...we leave on Friday! :cool1: We don't have all kinds of extra money right now, and we rather have the extra money to spend on DS in the parks. :)

We booked WL standard for April. Any room #s for those of us hoping for a glimpse of the fireworks and/or water parade? Thanks!

If you need bunks (of course, it's just a request), then you have to go to a woods or above. They no longer are offered in standard rooms.

If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, or any time on the balcony, you might want to go for a woods or courtyard. Otherwise, you can have the view we once had - of a smokehouse and dumpster (if they are still out in that parking lot).

When I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in 2003, I had booked a Woods View room. I had room #: 5032 and it was wonderful!! I could see the castle, monorail, lagoon and the Contemporary. The picture below is the view I had. It was amazing going to sleep each night watching the castle change colors, then waking up and seeing it each morning. Watched Wishes twice from the balcony and had a wonderful view of it. Could hear the music. Have booked a woods view room again for my trip next year and requested this room again. Although it is right near the elevators, I found the room to be quiet. It's also a quick walk to the pool, Roaring Forks, lobby and boat launch. Little longer to get to the buses. This is my favorite resort at Disney World. I posted a link in my signature that has lots of pictures of both the resort, as well as the room and the views.

We always booked standard view. We were given a view toward WLV, once before the Villa were built and once looking toward the WLV pool. In my opinion, the view is the same as a woods view, trees, the villas.

We stayed at woods view last week. But, heck, we spent most of the time sitting outside in the hallway looking at the lobby. They need lobby view :)

From what I have been told there are a few standards with bunks - but CRO doesn't show availability in their computers. I think they don't want to advertsie because they are so few. Our TA confirmed this and had them note our bunk request on our Standard ressie - fingers crossed for a bunk but if we don't get one that's OK too.

Glad to hear this, I was going to ask when they changed from having some standards with bunks. It has always been a request only never a quarantee. Luckily we have gotten them each time.

And as for the OP's ?, if a view is important go ahead and spring for courtyard. An upgrade is always possible but I would count on it very much. I would rather be surprised to get it than diappointed because I didn't. For me, I wouldn't pay extra to look at trees. I always book standard because I am not in the room long enough to worry about going out on the balcony much. But, the bottom line is no matter what room you choose, you just cannot beat the WL!!
