We booked a standard room at WL for May prior to the creation of the new "nature" category. At the time we booked, those rooms now designated as nature view were standard view and I was hoping we wold end up there. We want fireworks view, but not the parking lot/smokehouse. Not sure what will happen -they must have booked many more standard rooms than currently exist, right? SO, this uncertainty has me considering a courtyard view which is still available. I know this means no fireworks. My only hesitation is the thought these rooms will have too much pool noise -we like afternoon naps. Should I just sit tight or change?

I would stick with what you have. We had a courtyard view in December and it was SO noisy. We could hear the Electric Water Pageant 3 times at night. I thought I was going to lose my mind. On our trip last August, we had a room over the parking lot/smokehouse and it didn't bother me at all. We had a lovely view of CR, the monorail and the fireworks!

Not necessarily. The rooms at WL have been hard to book. It's possible they pulled rooms from inventory long enough to keep from overbooking the new standard category.

A standard view that the OP hopes that can see fireworks will be just as loud. Any room that can see fireworks will be close to the water

The standard view rooms that overlook the lobby aren't very close to the water. The Electric Water Pageant isn't very loud in these rooms.

If you booked a standard view room and don't want to be above the loading dock then request a room overlooking Otter Pond. :)

I’m wondering the same thing. We booked before they added nature view too. Guess I’ll see what we get.

Thank everyone, very helpful! I think we will stick with what we have. I don't usually pay for views or locations unless there is some specific benefit -usually we are not spending a lot of time in the room. In this case it sounds like the noise is about the same, so why pay for better view if we aren't there to enjoy it much? I did online checkin and requited the highest floor, hopefully that means less noise.

I think you'll be happy. And remember, if you aren't, ask for another room. Never hurts. Enjoy your trip
