This is hearsay as it comes from my debriefing a friend who just returned from a 9 night trip yesterday. He stayed at WL (and did so at same time last year) and is not a DVC member (yet):
1. As far as the resort's new bus system goes, he found it to be an improvement over prior one (which shared with Poly and GF). Was informed busses were supposed to do an "8" meaning go from FW to WL to a park and then to WL to FW to WL to a park. However, it did not seem to actually work out that way as sometimes they went to FW first when returning from a park but in any event he found the system faster than prior and he experienced no long waits for busses...except--there were large crowds in the early morning waiting for busses and thus they filled and you would need to wait for next one (and now see next point).
2. Overall crowds were larger this year than last at same time but not bad. MK was most crowded park. They went once in the early morning (a Wednesday). Major attractions quickly accumulated long lines and some got up to 45 minutes or more in the morning. Made it seem place was very crowded. Second morning they went to Epcot early--similar experience in morning although not as bad as MK. Thereafter they opted to try just going in the afternoon to evenings to the parks (and when doing so found almost no wait for busses to parks). Two other weekdays they went after 3 p.m. MK--all those same major attractions with long lines in the morning had little or no lines most of the afternoon to evening (they were able to do Big Thunder and Peter Pan 3 times in a row each with no lines). At Epcot and MGM essentially everything had little or no lines mid- afternoon to evening except Test Track. (Perhaps without ee the "go early" philosophy is not the one to follow).
3. Biggest complaint was cafeteria at WL as it had huge lines in the morning actually going out the door (but once they decided to just sleep in they went at 10 and found the place almost empty).
4. Main pool never got overly crowded despite extreme heat for this time of year but they kept closing the bar at 7 even though crowd at pool actually seemed largest in the evening till almost 9.
5. They did AK twice once during week and then on Sunday. During week seemed "packed" particularly when moving around (although lines were not hugely long). On Sunday, the place seemed almost empty.
6. No bad experiences with CM's, all were pleasant that he met at WL.
