We've narrowed our choices down a bit (due to price) and it's down to WL, POR, or POFQ. We will only be there 1 night (just coming back from a cruise), and will be going to the MK. DH, Myself, and 1 year old DS. We probably won't be able to use the resort much (time constraints and also it's January! Might be a little cold to swim outside). We really want to be close to MK and have good transportation to/from the park. Are the lines for the boat better than the buses? What time is check in/check out for these hotels?
We've decided to stay at a disney resort b/c the night we are there, MK will have extra evening magic hours and since we only have one half day, this is a big plus for us!

Thanks for your suggestions!

Ok..I'm going against what I usually say here. First of all...I LOVE POFQ. It is ALWAYS our first choice. HOwever..being that you will only be there one night and you will be spending that time in MK...I would 1st reccommend a monorail resort...if that's not possible then I would go with the WL. The boat ride is just another magical experience a little different from the bus...plus the lines are shorter. (at least in our experience) The check in/out times are the same at all the resorts (I think!)
Have a great time!!

I would recommend POFQ. It's a smaller resort and you'll have an easier time getting around on your one and only day. The bus transportation will be a bit longer than the boat, but still not bad IMO. The WL is too nice of a place to just breeze in and breeze out. Especially when you say you're not really going to spend any time there. Honestly, it sounds as if you're just looking for a place to sleep that has good transportation to the MK. All Star Sports fits the bill to a "T" and you would save a boat load of money.

I've stayed at all your choices. While I love POR and POFQ, I think WL. I agree with what princess-rn said. Plus, WL is closer to MK.

You have 1 day, and you are only planning on doing the MK?

Then I would pick the resort closest to the MK. In your list, that is the WL.

WL is our favorite resort anyway, so we would always choose it, even over a monorail resort.

Definitely WL. The boat to MK is wonderful and it drops you off and picks you up right at the entrance to MK. If you decide it's too much money then POFQ, another beautiful resort but a much more manageable size than POR.

If you want to be close to the Magic Kingdom, then I would recommend the Wilderness Lodge. There is boat service to and from the MK from the WL. This is a beautiful resort and I think you'll be very happy there. Below is a link to a bunch of pictures I took in 2003 of the Wilderness Lodge and the room I had (wonderful view of the castle, monorail & Contemporary).

One more vote for WL! You will love the boat ride over to MK! :earsgirl:

Thanks for the suggestions. I would *LOVE* to book a monorail resort...I just can't find one below $300/night! If anyone knows of any great deals, I'll certainly take some help! Otherwise, it looks like WL will be our winner. I don't want to be having to take a bus ride back to the resort with an overly tired 1 1/2 year old! That would NOT be fun. So unless we find a decent price for a monorail resort...we'll be doing the boat at WL.
Thanks!

I too would have to vote for the WL. I only spent 2 short days there but it was still worth it. The boat ride is very nice and would be much better for you with a tired 1 1/2 year old. Althought I do love POFQ it just doesn't fit with your needs for this trip. Have a great cruise and fun night at WL!!!
