Hi, We going to CBR in late August but due to the construction, we are looking to move to either WL or BC. We do have some pool time in the schedule but with my girls being 5 and 8, which pool would they enjoy the most? And how crowded does both pools get in late August? We have never stayed at a deluxe Hotel, we always stayed at POP. This will be something new for us so any tips will be greatly appreciate it.
Thank you :flower1:

SB is very crowded because it is pretty awesome. But it is also very large. Personally, I would do WL. I just love this resort, so peaceful. Also, the CBR is offering $75 off per night to stay, and their pool is amazing.

The reason CBR is offering a $75 Gift Card is because it too will have major construction and major disruptions to amenities. I would not stay there now.
SAB is the best pool on property. It has a sand area for your younger one to play. No other pool offers that
All pools will be crowded on August afternoons

I understand it will be under construction, but they are offering many food options since OPR will be closed, and the pool will be open for use. There are many folks on the CBR thread who are happy to stay there with the reduced savings, and others switching to CBR for the savings. Just thought I would throw it out there since the pool is amazing.

An additional point of clarification. It is a $75 Gift Card not $75 off per night. The info on this states that is can be used at Resort Food & merchandise locations. So while most assume it can be used on the room charge that is not what it states and no one has experience yet.

If you are prioritizing pool time, obviously the Beach Club is the best option. It is very large and has so much to offer. That being said, the WL is my all time favorite resort and it is very relaxing. I don't think you can go wrong with either option. But, storm along bay is pretty awesome.

We are currently booked at CBR but the food court will be closing and Disney said there will be food offering in Centertown so in other words it will be in the parking lot in a tent or something. Really not sure. But I prefer to Switch our resort and not deal with major construction.

I love the atmosphere of both WL and BC. But I think it comes down to the pool. I want to be able to relax while my husband and my girls play in the pool.

I agree, it's a tough choice! Both are great, but the kids may like SAB a lot. WL has a more peaceful atmosphere. In my experience, my kids are happy in any pool. We stayed at CBR and they LOVED the pirate themed pool with the slides, but when that got crowded they were just as happy in the quiet pool. As I said before, I would choose WL, I just love the atmosphere. You really can't go wrong!

Thank you so much :flower3:. I am leaning towards BC but hubby wants to go to WL. I think Im gonna let him win this one :cool1:

I think Hubby won this one and we gonna switching to WL.

SB is fun, but with all the twists & turns it can be hard to keep track of your kids, lots of hidden spots. When I was there w/ my 8 year old last year I had to be in with her, or have her stay in one area of the pool which she didn't want to do.

It's harder for one person to supervise two younger children at SAB. It will make it much more difficult to relax, especially with the crowds.

Yep, I agree, I would definitely avoid any hotel during construction, when we have stayed on site during less extensive construction work than that and it has negatively impacted our trip.

We go every August and I would say the pools starts getting crowded by 2:00, when people get back from early morning time at the parks. But in the morning hours till about 1:00, pools are pretty quiet. I feel 2:00 through 5:00 is always when the pools are most crowded in August. 2:00 - 3:00 is usually when the rec. department does the pool side parties and that's when the pools are usually really busy.

I did too, when DH wanted to stay and I thought I wasn't going to like it (I'm not into camping at all)- however we both fell in love with it and it became our favorite resort. The only Disney property we stayed at two trips in a row, we loved it that much!

Other Thoughts: Having stayed at both WL and Beach Club - I would pick WL. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pool at Beach Club, I felt that you couldn't really swim in it as it was so shallow. I think your kids would enjoy the sandbar, but as others have said the layout makes it very hard to keep track of your munchkins.

I'm sure you will love WL!

I called and had our resort switch to WL. With the help from everyone response, we felt like WL would be the better resort.
Like you I don't do nor like camping but WL looks so Beautiful. I can't wait to go.

Great decision! I have not followed it closely but I 'think' the brand new second pool will be open by then? The new waterfront bar/restaurant - Geyser Point - recently opened and it looks AWESOME.

While SAB is certainly cool, I agree with the others in that it can be tough to keep track of your kids. I'm an active / get in the pool father and I was totally WORN OUT chasing my 6 year old around the one night we stayed at BC last summer. The fact that you have to leave the pool area to get on the slide can be tough at the "can't let them out of my sight" age, in my opinion.

Hope you have a great time!

I think you made a good choice! WL is a beautiful resort, I don't think you'll be disappointed. We had a nice stay at the BC, but we prefer the WL to the BC/SAB. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the WL :wizard:.
