WL or POP

I have a trip book for Nov '07. We are staying at WL. I have always wanted to stay at a deluxe with my kids just once. We normally stay at POP and we love it. But, this will be our last trip for awhile. DD will be going into HS and involved in more things. So, I wanted to treat them to a deluxe just once. Well, if we stayed at POP my trip would already be paid for!! But, staying at WL, I still owe $1500!! I can come up with the $$. We just can't buy groceries (just kidding!)

I guess what I am asking is......will I notice a big difference between hotels?
Will my dream of a deluxe be worth the extra $? Taking my dd's during the holidays and staying at a deluxe has been a dream of mine for a long time.

We are only staying five nights so I don't want to do a split stay.

IMHO, there's a HUGE difference between Deluxe and Value resorts.

Now you can have a wonderful time no matter where you stay, don't take this any other way.

But there's no real question which you'll like better. The tough part is future trips once you've "gotten use to" a deluxe.

WL when we stayed at Pop we were nothing but disappointed especially since we could see and hear the highway from our room.

You are comparing apples to oranges. WL is awesome!! (I feel your pain though... still owe $1500 on my trip too, due 10/2 )

While I have never stayed at Pop, I have stayed at the moderates a couple of times. If you can afford it, I would definately stay at WL especially during the holiday season. You won't be disappointed at all. The difference between the moderates and deluxes to me is noticeable. You get more of a resort feel at the deluxes with counter and table service restaurants to choose from. Hopefully you are going around mid November when all the decorations are up at the WL and DW. Everything is so much more magical to me at Christmastime . Have a great trip!

Okay, that makes me feel a lot better. I know we will enjoy the trip. I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations. I just wish November would hurry up and get here!

WL is much better! The rooms are much larger, you have queen beds vs. full beds, and the theming is great. If you can stay in the north wing, on the upper floors facing the lake, you can also see MK's fireworks in the evening. You can also see the electrical water pageant as well.

If you're staying during or after Thanksgiving, WL should be decked out for Christmas, which to me is the best decorated of all of the resorts.
