Hi,

Just wanted to ask anyone who has been at WL recently how the buses are lately? Is there a bus to MK even though there is boat service (and, if so, which is recommended if trying to get to an early morning Castle ressie?)?

Any comments would be very helpful! Thanks!

I honestly do not believe there is a bus to the Magic Kingdom. Ive heard that the boat starts running at 730 on early entry days and at 830 am other days.

The bus transportation to MK is to take a bus to the TTC and then monorail over. Boat tends to be quicker. In the past, boat at some times of the year, usually in some off-seasons (and on windy or foggy mornings at other times of year) was not running early enough for ee or very early ressies on non-ee days and thus bus, which is always early enough, was needed. If anything has changed recently, I do not know.

We stayed at VWL last week and the bus service was about the same as always. A couple days there was someone waiting outside with the palm pilot device asking people where they wanted to go and then telling them about how long it would be. We got lucky a couple times and the bus pulled up as we got there. Only once did we wait over 20 minutes. That was for a bus to Epcot and another one pulled in right behind it, so we figured that our bus had been delayed for something.

One thing I did notice is that our buses didn't seem to be running the same route all the time. Sometimes as we pulled into a park, the driver would tell us to pick up our return bus at bus stop 5, for example, but then he would pull up to stop 3 to let us out. When I looked back up at the bus, the sign would have changed to be for a different resort. I guess that is all part of the bus on demand.

Okay, now I'm scared. We have 8:10 Cindy's ressies (finally, after two years!) on a Sunday (non-EE) morning at MK. We are also checking into the WL that same morning, probably around 6. How do we get to our breakfast at MK? Call a cab? No boat, no bus, from what it looks like -- that can't be (please, please, please, tell me it can't be -- my kids will be devastated!).

Last week after Illuminations (we ate at Rose & Crown) we (4 of us) left EpCot by way of Intl Gateway. Same distance walking but no crowds this way. We got a taxi at Boardwalk back to Wilderness Lodge. The cost was $10 plus tip. The Magic Kingdom is closer to WL than EpCot so maybe a taxi wouldnt be too bad.
