WL bunkbed rooms vs. 2 queens

Working on our October 2005 plans...
We've stayed at WL twice (loved it!) and in a studio at VWL once (loved it!). My question: do the bunkbed rooms at WL seem larger due to more floorspace? We've had 2 queen beds both times and it was fine...just wondering if anyone noticed any difference.

Thanks!

Hi!

I think the bunkbed rooms do 'seen' larger than a room with two queens because there is more floor space between the two beds. The bunks only take the floor space for a twin. It gives a little more space to manoever around when trying to get ready for the day.

Of course they are not really larger. I think when traveling with active children, having that extra space really helps. With just two adults, it might not be as noticable.

Just my opinion.

We've only had bunkbeds. They must make them feel larger because we've haven't noticed "the small room feel" that others have mentioned. We feel this in one of the nice benefits of staying at WL; we have a a pre-teen boy, and a teen girl--we love the bunkbeds!

We only stayed in a bunk room as well. Quite honestly, I don't think they seem larger because they are set up with some space between the bunk and the wall - not against the wall the way most bunk beds are set up in the house.

The room actually seemed the same size as the one we had at POFQ, due to the layout.

That being said, we were a family of four and felt both places were comfortable and had sufficient space for our things - we traveled in November so we had lots of jackets and long pants as well as shorts and t-shirts.

I've been in both. I actually think the two queen beds seems larger because the space is not cut up by the tall bunks. There may be more floor space with the bunks, but it's not much and the room seems larger if it's more open like in the 2 queen room. -HM

While we loved our WL bunk room decor overall it did have the space between the bunks and the wall (as mentioned above) which wasn't usable space. Overall, the room seemed a bit dark too with the visually imposing bunk beds.

Maybe we did have more floor space but it didn't really feel like it! We had two teenage boys and two adults in November with coats and lots of luggage for a week.

Thought I'd add something real quick. We have bunkbeds at home (for when DS has buddies over), and they're up against the wall. They are a real pain to make! I have no doubt why there is room between the bunks and the wall--it shaves a few minutes off the CM's bed-making time.
