Here is a silly question... but when I go to Disney's website and use their oct-dec package code for the wilderness lodge on Dec. 11th-17th there is availability... If I reduce our trip days to arrive on the 13th instead of the 11th there is no availabity (my dh may go with us now and we will need to reduce number of days there so he can go). Is it something to do with the amount of time I have booked vs. the 4 night trip? Just curious....

I noticed the same thing with the AP code... I think it has to do with if you are booking more "unpopular" days... if so, they'll let you add in a day where the code is not available because it is such a small percentage of your overall trip.
I also noticed it with straight-up room availability... if you looked day by day for the 2nd-9th, a standard room would be available say, 6 out of the 7 nights. However, if you booked it as 2nd-9th, it would let you have a standard room, even though it technically wasn't available that one night.
I wonder... if you book the longer package, and then change it later (before the 45 days) to be less days, will they still honor the discount package rate? I know for a room-only ressie, if you add days, they have to check to make sure the discount is still available for the day you want to add. I don't know how it works if you take days off.
