Hello everyone!

For those new to us, we are a group of people who are planning to participate in walking/running events throughout the year. For most of us, the ultimate goal is to train and compete in the annual WDW Half/Full marathons. We'll also be posting news and training for various other events throughout the year. We range from non-running beginners to triathletes. Come join us, whether you're training for an event or walking/running for fitness!

New WISH Team members. If you read one thing over and over, believe this. Being part of this team is fantastic. Part of the ride you get for the event is what I call the roller coaster. There will be lots of ups and downs. The more you post here, the more you will find yourself enjoying the ride. It is an incredible journey. Don't be afraid, shy or whatever to come here and just post up anything. You don't have to know us right away, or all of us at all. You will get to know some of us. It makes the event you are enjoying have MORE meaning and we love to have you.

Drive-by tonight from one of the coolest rooms at OKW. DH and I did 5.5 miles this a.m. from here, thru SSR, DTD, PI, to Cirque de Soleil and back here. It was chilly here...somewhere in the low 40s. I managed to run the whole way without whining about the cold ;)

We saw the Osborne lights tonight...still using Trans-Siberian Orchestra music so it was very cool! We also ate at Prime Time cafe for the first time...saw more than one person end up standing in the corner :confused3

AmyBeth and Scott...welcome back!

Good training and happy turkey day everyone!

Well, it's 4:30AM, 39 degrees, and rainy here in Philadelphia and I am about to go run my first marathon. In the words of an old rapper...

I know you're probably gone already, but GOOD LUCK!!!!! Can't wait to hear the report when you're back!

Well, I'm gonna give the LR a shot this morning (I'm starting to sound like a broken record here) Anyway, I've rested my ankle since Wednesday, and as of right now (and yesterday all day) no pain. So we'll see. And I"m not really sure what distance I'll cover either. Running that marathon in Sept really messed up my Disney training. Haven't been able to have any step-back weeks yet b/c of post race recovery. And I also have to be home by 8:30 to make it to work in time. So, I'm looking at anywhere from 10-14 miles.

Cecilia--Please don't feel bad about the post-flu run. Last year, I went out for a LR the weekend after being sick with the stomach bug for a week. Was supposed to be my 20 miler and I gave up after 9. It really was a monkey on my back for a while, until some great WISHers and my dad made me realize that any distance after being that sick is an accomplishment!

Well, I need to go update my iPod, my Christmas music has strangely disappeared, check the temps and get out on the road. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.:thumbsup2

Unbeknownst to me, my sunnyshopper.com site expired. Many of the WISH clippies were stored there.

I am so sorry to the interruption in service!!!!!!

Here are the critical '08 clippies:

one more thing...

I also moved the WISH cafepress stuff so it's not on the main store front.

it is here:

WISH STUFF

They've added a yard sign that might be cool for the scream team to setup along the course outside of the parks... Just a thought!

Plus, buttons, pins that are great for lanyards;)

Good morning WISH team.

Today is a rest day for me and my princess, but we have a 10 miler in the morning. My legs have finally shaken off the tiredness from last monday's 18 miler so it's LSD time again.

Everyone please post your miles in the 1000 mile challange thread. We are only at 300 right now but most people are not posting their miles. I was kinda thinking if enough people wanted to do it we could keep it going till Dec 31st and see how many miles we put in with our training for the January events.

Would anyone be interested in a mileage game for next year, break into teams and each team post their total miles for each month. I thought it might be a fun way to stay motivated after January. Or just tell me to shut up if it's a dumb idea.

Here is a picture of my Pretty Princess, Erica, and her wonder beast Ayla. This is a race from 2005. We had someone complain about a dog in the race once so we buy the dog a race number now and we always start in the back.

Have a great day y'all.

Good morning WISHers! Hoping everyone is having a great weekend.

Rest day for me, today.

Mel - Have a great time at the World.

Lou - Good luck!

Sunny - How you doin?

Stephanie - Have a great run.

WWDave - Take it easy today. I'd be up for the running game.

MSDave - W'sup?

Good Morning WISH Team!!! Today is a rest day for me..so no training to report on!

lou--You are probably out there running right now..I hope all went well, and I can't wait to hear your race report later on today!

Amy--You got it right, I watched the weather report this week, and saturday looked like the better day around here, so I decided to go yesterday.

Hope everyone has a great sunday!!

Just back from my LR. Ended up with 11 miles at 9:13 pace (including 2 water stops and one potty break) Most of my miles were sub-9:00, very happy with that.:cool1: Now it's time to hit the showers and head to work. I didn't get a single break yesterday in 9 hours (guess people need their drugs to get through the holiday), hoping today won't be as busy as my legs might not be able to handle it.

Good morning everyone!

Well, after being sick all last week, I finally went out for a 10 mi walk yesterday. It was rough. Slow. But, done.

Today's SW wasn't much better. But, that's because doofus me left the house on a totally empty stomach. Just forgot to have a drink or food. :sad2:

Have a great week, everyone. And, Sunny, thanks for the new clippie link. It's good to have my Goofy back.

Hello everyone,
I am on vacation in Las Vegas. Worked out great as this was an off week only had 8 mile run and I did that before I left on Thursday. But, I do plan on running the strip once or twice this week. Tomorrow I go to Red Rock canyon to do some Rock Scrambling. Very cool and a lot of fun. http://www.hikethislasvegas.com/rockscrambling.htm

Lou - impressed you got out of the house this morning. Temps like that I just want to roll over.
Stephanie - wow you have a good pace going. Guess I'll see you at the finish as I won;t see you during the race.
Kelley - glad to see you made it

When I get home I'm due for an 18 miler - yahoo! Can't wait :)

Have a great Holiday.

Hey all... I did 7 miles yesterday on the Treadmill. It was just OK, as the TV's were set to cruddy stuff. This is opening hunting weekend, yet the Y was full of men.... men that watch cruddy TV. I just can't watch all those news shows while I run!!!! So I finished and my pace was acceptable for where I want to be in January.

SUNNY - :wave2: Oh I am so happy you popped in. How are you doing??

Mel - Totally jealous that you are WDW. And whats up with the cold temps? It was blasting hot there a couple weeks ago. If those temps stay for January... I will be GOLDEN for the race. :cloud9: It will feel perfect for this northerner!!

Lou - :cheer2: GOOD LUCK!!

OK, gotta get some cross training cleaning done. :laundy:

Hi everyone-

I ran with my dd9 in her first 5k this afternoon. We finished in 31:44. I was proud of her, she listened to me and she never gave up even with a side stitch and an allergic reaction to the grass they had her sitting in. Poor things legs were itching the entire race!

My legs were barely warmed up before the race was over but it felt good to finish strong.

Cecilia

Hey team,

Thanks for the positive thoughts and well wishes. I finished!!! I posted a race report in the Race Report thread.

Can't wait for Disney!

Lou

Lou—great job on finishing the marathon! I’d say that’s a great time for your first marathon. Hope you can let the pulled muscle heal.

Mel—I’m jealous of you running through WDW this weekend. What did you think about running through DTD? I’ve done it a few times and was somewhat disappointed (maybe I had just built it up in my mind so much beforehand. I didn’t like all the hard concrete.) Hope you guys are having a good weekend down there.

Stephanie—WTG on the LR and the pace! How did the ankle hold up?

Kelley—great job on getting the in the steps in spite of not feeling good. Hope this week is better for you.

Jen—did you tell those guys that this Y is “your turf” and they will watch what YOU want to watch? I think you should have. :) Good job getting the distance in!

Dave--are you yelling at the Steelers like Krista and I are this afternoon? If we lose to the J-E-T-S....:sad2:

The weekend was good for training. I got 14 miles in on Saturday, and no knee pain at all. This coming week is a taper week, which I’m very glad for. Since I had to rework my training plan for Disney after missing the Columbus marathon, I had to do 4 weeks without a taper. So making it through this 4 week stretch was key, and I seem to have done it without killing myself. I did 25 miles on the bike today, which really helped loosen up the legs.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and have a great Thanksgiving week!

Steve

Stephanie--Nice job on your LR today...great pace! Hope work wasn't as busy for you today!

Kelley--WTG for getting that LW in despite not feeling well last week! It is amazing what not eating/drinking before a workout can do to you...I have learned that the hard way myself.

Duane--Enjoy your vacation in Vegas!!

Jen--WTG for getting your 7 miles in yesterday!

Cecilia-NICE JOB to your and your DD on your 5k! Great time as well. That is so great that your DD wants to run in races with you!!! Too bad she had an allergic reaction...at least she kept going and finished the race!!!

Lou--WTG on finishing your marathon!! I will have to head over to the race reports thread to read about how it went!

Steve--Glad to hear you got through your 4 week stretch without pain! That is great!

I am really going to try to keep up this week with the thread!!! I miss posting more often on here!! Have an awesome week!

Hey WISHers! :wave2:

Geez, no wonder I can never keep up with this thread; it just started today and we're already on page 2! Great job everyone on the training.

As for me, today I ran the local Turkey Trot 5K; finished in 24:22. Start time temp was 29 degrees!:cold:

Have a great week everyone! I may not post often, but I'm always reading the thread. Go get 'em!
