Cam & Howard
I am so sorry for your loss.
Judy-- no, the Big E isn't very close to me, but closer than NY!
Kristi-- great pic of the air travel
Did you happen to see the news on my town today?
I was up in NH seeing a very interesting dr who believes my pain is benign, a residual effect of the Levaquin, he has actually seen another patient suffer a reaction like mine. TG I'm not crazy. Anyhoo, I call for messages before I leave to drive to work and discover both my kids schools are in CODE BLUE LOCK DOWN! There was a car break in and a gun shot at the high school (where Sonya was). OMG, needless to say, I didn't make it to work....
As for training and pain... Dx and I did HIS first training run on Friday: 8 miles (13:10 avg pace), then I did my 18 miler on Saturday (14:20 avg pace, might as well walked it!). Then I did a 90 minute hard weight lifting session on Sunday and have been in terrible pain since. But I'm taking this doctor's theory on faith and working through the pain. I owe thanks to a WISHer who told me about a book by Dr. Sarno (sorry, I can't remember who it was now). Anyway, Dr. Marc Sopher is featured in his book and has written his own book about living pain free AND is a marathon runner. How much better can it get. AND he's not affiliated with Lahey Clinic! In fact, he is a private practioner, an absolute unheard of thing around here. I arrived early, he took me in early and spent over an hour with me. All I can say is Wow, there still are some human doctors in the world
Yesterday and today ended up being rest days, but I think I needed them.
Anyone interested in this Dr's philosophy can find it here: Mindbody Syndrome If you are interested in this sort of stuff, I highly recommend The Divided Mind by Dr. John Sarno.
