Good morning all!
Today is a much better day!
I could tell I was feeling better because on the way to work I thought "Hey! I'm singing!", which I have not been able to do since I got bronchitis. Nothing like belting out a couple of good Blake Shelton tunes on the way to work! I'm so happy to be feeling human again!
I have a question for all my professional walker WISH buddies......Monday I am doing a 4.3K "Fitness Walk". Well, they can call it what they want but for me it's a practice run for January. Anyway, 4.3K is only 2.67 miles, and I have been doing 3 miles @ 1% five days a week on the TM. I trained this morning, I plan on training tomorrow and Saturday morning but taking Sunday as a rest day. I really didn't think I needed to taper for this minuscule event. Right? Plus I am drinking drinking drinking so I am fully hydrated. What else should I do? Or not do? I know this might be ridiculous for such a tiny event but remember I am practicing for the "big time".
Sunny, Carrie, Amy - Thank you for all your kind words and good advice.
I am feeling much better thanks to better living thru pharmaceuticals. The antibiotics are really doing their thing!
Cam - You are so incredibly inspiring.
I can honestly say with all my heart that I would not be training and doing local events and planning on "the Big One" in January if it wasn't for you. Thank you so much. Really.
Christa - You will always be The Evil Queen to me.
I wouldn't even dream of taking your title! I am soooo sad you aren't coming to WDW. DH and I are staying at POR and you can stay with us if that will help. I mean it!
Colleen - I too have hammer toes on each feet. And lovely bunions. My feet do NOT see sunshine.
No, no, waaaay too ugly. I had surgery on my left foot twice. Once for the bunion and once for the hammer toe. It's only a matter of time before the right one is ready. The surgery wasn't bad, it was the walking around in the surgical shoe for weeks afterwards that was a pain. But I'm so glad I did it! But hopefully the orthodics will work for you. I had them made but I can not stand them. So I don't use them. BTW these funky feet of mine were self-inflicted. Too many years of 3" stiletto heels eight hours a day.
Kristi - Whoo hoo!
DL! Way to go! I too am not overly impressed with your doctor.
Howard - OMG those stats! Wow!
Now even I'm impressed with what I'm doing! And no blushing about the comment...it's true!
Sunny - Oh I'm glad you're feeling better. And I REALLY REALLY appreciate your "pep talk". You are so inspiring and I admire you so much. Plus I learn so much from you. Thank you very much for being there when I really needed it.
Wait. I just read Mel's posts - You've only been doing this one year!?!?! That's AMAZING!!!
You are my Poster Child for inspiration! Oh Sunny, that really stinks about your doctor. There's got to be a better way.
Monte - Uhhh, they have chat rooms here?
Guess I should look around the Dis more...
Mel - OMG!
Amy - I'd like to see a demo of that butt ball rolling please.
Maggie - Yay!
There you are!
Judy
