Wk of Mar 30 - WISH Walking/Running Club

Bill/Vic: I was waiting to hear Vic's answer before I jumped in. I think it's entirely necessary that Timmy have the appropriate mentors as he grows. He'll need to know how to make the full range of zoom, vroom, brrzzooom, screeeeech, and cccrrrraaaassshhhh noises. I volunteer, having some experience with the screeching and the crashing. And Vic, I think it's only fair that you contribute to Timmy's education by offering up some of those cars of yours so he get receive the best possible experience; after all, you only collect the best, right? :rotfl2: ;)

DKP, Vic and Bill--Don't forget, after the vrooooms and crashes, then there is autobody and mechanical repair. What better way to learn a lifelong, professional trade than by working on exact scale replicas of cars while you are a scale replica of a grown-up (i.e., a child).

Aloha Jeff, sorry you may need a doc visit. Thanks for the pics. Beautiful, I don’t know how you can stand it. Sorry about the airlines going out of business.

Judy, get well!

Debra, have fun packing. What a great thing you’re going to DW!

Maura, your pics were amazing. Beautiful place. I thought you were getting promoted. A cubist? Good for you icing your legs while working.

Carrie, whoa! Flying MP3, good that was all that was flying this time.

Stacie, glad you made yourself go to the gym and that you ended up having a good w/o. Warriors need the mileage/time!

Scott, good for quality XT! WTG. The excitement is building for sure for Minnie weekend.

Kristi, eye candy! I take it you had a good Friday eve.

Claire, your speed play running betw the rain drops?

Starkiss, Welcome to the WISH Team. Don’t worry about too much, post as you are able and I guarantee you will have the best experience leading up to your event whatever it is.

Leana, I hope you enjoy the movie. I did.

Cecilia, get well. Sorry you can’t be sick that you’ve got to be the Mom.

Lynnda, lovely cake you made!

Bill, thanks for the pics.

Angie, I admire your dedication. Up at 4 a.m. Wow! I just can’t get there. Glad your back is better today.

WWDave, thanks for asking-I’m better now that my heart is back in order. I felt so bad reading the beginning of that.

Tracy, good job getting the miles. Have fun in the World!

PatsBill, that was good!

Krista, if you're peeking in here did you see the pics on the running skirt thread of the skirts for preggos. I so thought of you when you were asking about running while pregnant.

I put in some time walking the dog today. Kirby had a pace of 20 min and managed 1.5 miles! For him, that’s great! Then it was TM for another bit for me and managed about a 15 m pace. Doc will be giving me the ok for getting back to work when I see him tomorrow. The time sure has flown. I look forward to being a productive member of society once again and to being able to increase some of my w/o. I know that will be slow, but at least I can add some to this I hope.

Sleep well, get well WISH Team!

Someone get the disinfectant spray around here. It seems to be contagious!

Debra - I've been meaning to ask....but what does DOOD stand for?

Okay.....so wisdom teeth out on Thursday...
Cold sets in on Friday complete with sore throat and runny nose...
Off work Monday and bail on Fit Ball...
Much better today and so I ran a crazy, HILLY 6 mi route in 1:06:57. It felt AMAZING to get the blood pumping with all of the elevation gain. My throat is paying for it a bit now, but I'm so glad I got out there.

Having trouble keeping up, but I just had to pop in and catch up on everyone.

Loved the cake, I used to make cakes for my kids (miss that now that they are grown) but they were never as elaborate as that. Fantastic!

Angie - 4AM training! Doncha know that's prime sleep time. :)

Everyone - it's so fun reading everyone's posts, they keep me looking forward to meeting everyone who will be at the Minnie. :goodvibes

Well, I'm sure most of you read about my downer of a LR on Sunday, so I took Monday off (which I shouldn't do, but I really didn't want to run, but I went bowling!!! Thats somewhat of WT!)

Today I went on a run with my best friend through her neighborhood. She isn't exercising, so this was a push for her. It showed me how far I've come in just about a month!! She wished she was dead, but she is ok now! Where she lives, it if VERY hilly, so it was harder for me. I mapped it out on mapmyrun.com, and it was about 2.14 HILLY miles, in 30 min! We did pretty good, I think, even though that same pace is what I did on my poopy LR.

I hope to get some more runs in this week so I'll do well on my 5 miler this Sunday or Monday!

Mahalo for the pixie dust and well wishes everyone.

I went for a leisurely run of 6.25 miles, despite this nagging sore throat. I got through it my taking cough drops with me. I guess the body is telling me to taper before Saturday's 10K, LOL.

A manager from the discount shoe store where I shop came running with us. I was hitting him up to sponsor our clinic, and donate some prizes to our annual Turkey Trot race on Thanksgiving. He said he'd talk to the owner, and get back to me. Networking at it's finest! :lmao:

I made my appointment for Wednesday morning to see the doc. Hopefully she tells me to take a month off from work. :rotfl:

I feel better now about the frequent flier miles I lost with Aloha Airlines. My friend, well she lost over 90,000 miles. So I told her she trumped my 64,000 miles.

Have a great day, and safe training everyone.

Kristi, eye candy! I take it you had a good Friday eve.
If you only knew, Lily... :rolleyes1 :dance3: :drinking1

Bill - that cake is awesome! Lynnda did an amazing job! :worship:
 I might be coming to FL in June.
Maybe I should hire Lynnda to make Zack's cake and then I can drive it back home. :scratchin

Debra - have a blast in WDW. I for one will miss your entertaining posts!

Lily, you of all people should know that Pandas are not to be trusted when it comes to stories, especiallyon April 1st. Y'all would think I was slacking in my duties as the village goof if I didn't spin a yarn on the day of scams.

A diet of veggies, with fish, milk and eggs is an excellent way to lose weight, I lost 12 lbs last month.

Yesterday's eating was:

Breakfast; shredded wheat, with banana and skim milk. Coffee, water and a vitamin.

Lunch; 8 oz grilled salmon, baked patoto, steamed veggies, banana bread.

Dinner was large mug of low fat mushroom soup made with skim milk.

snack; 6 oz of pineapple.

3 20 oz bottles of water, 4 cups coffee, 2 big glasses of water.

This was a total loss of 2 tenths of a pound.

I'm pretty excited to be so close to getting into the 160 range again.

Have a super day everyone.

GOOD MORNING TEAM!!!!

Wow, 7:48 am and I feel like half the day is over. :lmao: Yes I am completely psychotic for getting up at 4 and the funny thing is anyone that knows me, know that I DESPISE mornings. The deal is I work an hour from my house. So I get up, today was 4:20 by the way, slept in a little :confused3 , then I drive 45 minutes to a gym near my work. Work out, then get ready there and head out.

So today did some speed work on treadmil, I don't remember all the times and distances (it was early :rotfl: ) but I ended up with 3 miles in 28 minutes and I do know I did 1/4 mile at 8 min pace!!! So after that the teacher did not show up for Body Pump -- a room full of women who were REALLY mad that they got up at 6am to go to gym and no teacher for class :scared1: that was scary. Oh well I just did weights on the gym floor. Gotta get some work done. Later team!!!

Darn! Looks liek Lily didn't get teh antiseptic spray out in time.

Leana & Jeff - Hope you're feelign better soon. That is the nastiest, most contagious crud I've seen in ages.

Lynnda - Awesoem cake!

BillF - Glad I wasn;t teh cake driver! :scared1: GOod job!

Angies - Careful with that back! Glad you are feeling better!

Tracy - Way to go for getting out there!

Craig - Didn't realize you did have ressies yet. WOo hoo!

WWDave - Will you come make me the food on your diet? ;) Great job! DId you really have 12 pounds to lose?

MSWDave - Miss you!

Morgan - :rotfl2: Note to self: Run with someone who's not in as good of shape so that I feel better. ;)

Sharon - You like reading posts now? Just wait 'til you can put faces and hugs to our screen names! :goodvibes

Lily - You amaze me! Good luck with the doc today!

Carol - 4 minutes on teh TM sicks, let aone 4 miles! Good job for sticking with it!

Did my 75 min o fyoga last night. Tried to practice posture even more while doing it. Need to put a sticky on my monitory that Debra is watching! :rotfl:

You are a sweety, yes I have about 5 to 10 more to lose before I'll be happy with where I'm at. All the weight is going from the waist since I've gone down 2 pants sizes but shirts still fit the same.

When I retired in 1994 I had a 30 inch waist, by the time I decided to get my act back together I had gone to where 38 pants were to tight, I decided NOT to buy 40s. When I started this veggie, fish, eggs and skim milk diet a month ago I was comfortable in 34s, yesterday I wore 32s comfortablely.

I'm doing weights now again also for waist, shoulders and arms. Chest gets plenty of work with the pool work and legs with the walking and stretching.

Have a great day everyone.

Carol...4 miles...on the TM! way to go. Some days, even 1 mile is a long way!

Scott...How was your pilates/run/weights???

Lily...Hope your Dr appt goes well today!

Jeff... :wizard: for your sore throat. If your Dr says you can take a month off, I'm coming to see her! Too bad about the air miles. That would be so frustrating!

For me...Nothing yesterday except house cleaning. :laundy: I also worked on my t-shirts for Disney. I'm doing some iron-ons for DH and I to wear on our anniversary and matching ones for the family to wear 1 day. Yes...It's 4 weeks away and I'm already packing! :goodvibes Our anniversary just happens to fall the Monday after the Minnie... Tonight I'll do 4 miles. Run, R/W, W/R...whatever it turns out to be. As long as my pace is good, I'm going to try to not stress over it. I want my first Long Distance race experience to be fun and not stressful.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Stacie

Starkiss

Leana - Yay for the Spirit movie! Did they mention that only water is sold during the movie, and that everyone is required to gel at the 45 minute mark?? :rotfl: Congrats on feeling better and conquering those hills!

Debra - An award? YAY!! I really do think the programmable simulated race courses are a great idea. We will definitely miss your presence while you are in WDW...ToT is a personal favorite for sure. And yes, I'll be looking for that trip report filled with witty remarks and creative photography ;)

Cecilia
- Take care of yourself and your DD...hope you guys feel better soon!

Bill - Wow she did a great job on that cake! Love it! (of course I like eating it better than looking at it...with ice cream...)

Angie
- Easy there on the miles! Don't push too much...staying healthy is key. 4am is just impressive and shows extreme dedication (or insanity)!

Tracy
- Nice pace and have fun in WDW! Look forward to hearing about it when you return.

Carol - 4 miles IS a long way on the treadmill and Candace put on an amazing performance. Hope all is well.

Lily - Hope things go well at the doc today and you get the ok to resume normal duties!

AlohaJeff

Carrie

Kristi - Congratulations to Chad!! That is SO awesome!

Stacie
- Very cool that you are doing shirts again for this trip..the last ones were great! Good luck with the mileage tonight, hope it is FUN :)

Amy - How ya' doin' buddy? We need to work on our race attire for the upcoming weekend...I'm thinking I could find a red shirt with white polka dots for the 5k and then maybe a Daisy Duckish print for the 15k... :rotfl:

Scott's World - Not much going on with me. I did manage 40 minutes on the elliptical last night, and some early morning pilates but that was about it. I switched my runs up a bit this week and I'll be doing a 5-6 miler tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day!
