Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and PD for my knee.
Nothing like a good nights sleep, a gorgeous sunny spring day and some bad news to put everything in perspective. I got a call from a friend of mine last night to tell me someone we both knew from school had a stroke this past weekend and he is paralyzed on his right side. So sad and scary.
There but for the Grace of God.... Suddenly my knee problem doesn't look like such a big deal anymore. So, I know what I have to do, and I'll do it and that will be that. (Be secretly I'm still praying it's just pulled and not torn off, please please please!)
This morning I did an hour on the TM @ 3.8 @ 1%. I backed down on the speed just a bit. I wish I had time to do it outside today, it's sooo nice out!
BTW today was the first time I wore my new compression shorts. Ohh I love them!
Krista - I like the way you think!
Although, to tell you the truth, if I never had to see Dr HHBL again, it would be OK with me. Sorry about the inserts being a pain but I guess it makes sense if they are realigning everything.
jeanneg - Oh I knew I liked you!
There is actually a picture of him on the internet but NO WAY does it do him justice.
Kristi- Oh thank you. I need both my knees to jump around like a lunatic at the Kenny concert Cam and I are going to in June!
Stephanie - Thank you.
I know there are other races, but, well I ran the Half with a torn meniscus when Dr HHBL told me not to. It didn't hurt, and still doesn't when I train. Yeah, I know, I'm a stubborn old fool, but I NEED to do this!
Martha - I'm with you on that calling thing.
that's why they make repairmen! We've tried several DIY projects since we bought our house two years ago, and I've come to the conclusion....it's just not our thing. We'll write the checks. That we are good at!
Craig - I love that story! I think it's wonderful.
Hard to swallow for you, I'm sure, but it is a wonderful and tender moment. Thanks for sharing. And hey, congratulations on the post card!
Carrie - Oh no! Oh I hope it's just a temporary twinge.
YAY! Shirts! I wish I could help you. This part must be very time consuming for you.
Jackie - OMG! That's a scary story!
Whew. Did any good looking firemen show up?
Minnie - Thank you.
Oh I'm glad you went and had a great time. Say, are you riding again? I was thinking of taking lessons before we started working with Mist.
Paul - Thank you for your concern. I hear what you're saying and I know you are right. But, this is my first Minnie. (Insert whining stomping feet smilie here!)
Susie - Good to see you!
Stop that with the not worthy stuff! You ARE worthy! And we miss you!
Melissa - Gosh the things you do! How exciting!
MikeOptimator - "Don't stink too much!"
Steve and Dave - Thanks but I don't think I could stand it going to the Minnie and not participating.
I'll have this discussion with the surgeon but I'm pretty sure if the ACL is off, then I can't do much more damage to it. And if I promise to have the surgery as soon as I get back, I should be done with PT and braces in time to start training seriously for the Half.
Monica - YAY for the TM only costing $45.00! TM repairs must be much cheaper than plumbers!
Vic - You know, delicate would be just about one of the last words I would use for you.
I got the impression you were the strong, manly type.
Sunny - Thinking of you today and hoping its a better day for you.
Alright, let me pretend like I care about my job....
