Speaking of shoes....I've been having some shoe issues lately. They're fine for me on the TM but when I run out on the pavement I'm not so fond of them. Just curious if anyone has shoes they love that they'd like to recommend. I'll try anything. I started alternating 2 pairs for my LRs outside to minimize the problems. It's nothing major but I'm just not loving them like I have in the past. I'm also looking out for some different socks, mine keep giving me blisters. Again, this wasn't a problem when I was doing 3-4 miles but after 8-10 it's a problem. Any recommendatons?
Rosy - I don't know if you have any running stores where you are, but the best thing I can say is you need to get fitted for shoes. I really regret not doing that earlier last year as I wonder if it might have helped save me from a stress fracture. If you don't have access to a running store then you'll need to figure out your arch and level of pronation on your own. I highly recommend checking out the following articles from Runners World to help you determine your foot type.

That being said, you then need to focus on finding shoes that fit your needs. You can also use the shoe finder on Runners World to help. From there you want to go to a store and try as many of those shoes on as possible to see which one feels most comfortable. I'm personally a fan of Asics and run in the GT-2100 series. I knew as soon as I tried it on that was the shoe for me, but you'll need to find what works for you. Hope that helps!!
Cindy - Welcome to the boards!
Jen - Awesome sounding race. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
disnutt - The only time I really alternate shoes is when it is snowy out, then I'll wear trail shoes.
For those of you asking talking about trail shoes, I run in the Asics Gel Trabuco IX. I think that has been replaced by the Asics GT - 2120 Trail. I haven't bought a pair of those yet, but I have tried them on and I thought they felt great.
Dave - That is so great that you are doing the couch to 5K program with your daughters and will be doing a race with them. I'm sure they will love all the time with their dad!
It sounds like you will get a great group together for the CDC. I love the penguin medal. I may have to add that to my list of Wishful Races. The Flying Pig is on there, so that one may be on the radar for me next year. We'll see though, since it conflicts with Minnie and who knows, I may want to run that one again!
Wow you guys, so many great ideas for crockpot cooking. I think I may have to invest in one of those. You guys are making me hungry....must go eat breakfast soon! And get back to work...
