Good Morning TEAM:
Not too much for me to report, on Monday I ran 5 miles on the TM at 6.3 mph (9:31 mpm). Yesterday I took a rest day. I was planning on swogging (aqua jogging), but I never made it to the pool and it just didn't happen.
One thing I forgot to mention, my princesses, DD6

and DD9

, and I are training for a 5K. They've been saying they want to run one, so I found one for them on May 20th, and I'm doing the couch to 5K training plan with them. The Cool Aunt (who went with us to Disney) is going to train too, the princesses can call her up to chat about training, and then she's going to come out and run it with them. So Sunday was our first day of training, and we did 60 min jog/90 min walk intervals for 20 min. They did great!
OK, I've been really negligent about catching up with everyone. I did want to try to send out some replies.
Mel- fantastic job on your run! That's great. I remember when you were getting frustrated with your times too. I'm so glad to hear things are going better.
Sunny- I wanted to WISH you all the best with everything going on. Know we're here for you. I hope it works out for you to run the Vermont marathon.
Melissa- Whoo hooo, a 24h run for 90 miles! That sounds cool! I just finished reading Dean Karnazes "UltraMarathon Man", and the ultra races sound like such an adventure. Yeah, I definitely want to follow your team's progress. Loved your story about running a 50k with 2 river crossings and then returning your shoes. Man, I'm always timid about running outside of the shoe store when I try on shoes. Maybe I shouldn't worry about that so much.
Krista- I like the new avatar too. Two words for you regarding dinners, crock pot. We don't use ours as much as we would like, but it's great when we do. We come home and dinner is all ready for you. The radio spot went well, no big deal, they just asked some questions about the Learn to Run program I did. It was fun. Give my best to
Steve. I'm really excited about the Flying Pig Half - can't wait!
Christa- good luck with all your new clients. You sound swamped. I hope you still get some time to train.
Susan- Good luck on getting into the Peachtree Road Race. I'd like to do that one someday just for the sheer size of it.
Cecilia- Good luck with the half this weekend, and good for you for helping out the Team in Training group again too. How are your legs these days? I remember you saying you had your first injury.
Kiena/disnutt
to the TEAM!! Great job on your TM workout.
Lily- Good to hear from you, I've been wondering how you have been doing.
Nancy/padisneyfan- Nice job on your 5 mile walk. So glad the snow is melting. It's supposed to warm up here too.
Stephanie- Great job on your 4 miler and great pace. Hope your knee is OK. I must admit I had to break out the ice for my shins again yesterday.
Kristi- Don't worry about your weight, you're putting on muscle remember.
Leana- Great job on your 2 miler, and also on your St. Patrick's Day 10K. You're right, the only person you are competing with is yourself, and it's great that you cut 11 minutes off your 10K time. That's awesome!
Hey
Steve! I remember we used to have someone here named Steve. He was a big Steeler fan, and we sometimes called him Iceman. I'm definitely planning on running with you at the Pig, and you've been a big motivator for me trying to gain a little speed. I seem to remember that I had to fall back of you at the marathon at mile 20 after you had run the half marathon the day before, and didn't you run a sub-2 hour half marathon at the Pig last year? That's my only goal, to run a sub-2 hour half. I'd be very happy with that. You did 4 miles at an 8:05 mpm pace!!! Whoa, see that's why I've been having to push my pace lately. How'd you feel on your 13 miler? How long did that take you, an hour?
Vic- Have fun with the trail run. I'd like to do one of those. Can't wait to hear about it.
Cam- That was an AWESOME TM workout. Running pace of 5.4! Incline set at 2.0! That was a great workout.
Andrew- Great job on the 2 miles. Ooooh, you guys are all making me want to come out for the CDC.
Jeff- Good to hear from you. I must admit I had to chuckle at the tag under your screen name "Chimera's DH". Glad you're able to get some running in, and your stress fracture is healing up. That must have been sooooo painful.
Mike/Optimator- Your training times are amazing. I'll defer to the more seasoned marathoners about finding your race pace. It helped me to have a great pace crew of
Steve, Melissa, and Colleen.
Matt- Glad you had a good workout after your stonker run. Sounds like you have a lot of fun racing options coming up. Can't wait to hear about them.
OK, have a great day everyone. Happy training.
