Wk of July 5 - WISH Team Walkers and Runners

8.25 miles in 1:12. Felt slower than normal, but I'll take it.

Have a great WISH Wednesday.

Hey Team!!!

Welcome Back MATT!!!!!

OK... now that you all are freaking out about being 6 months from marathon weekend. Now you have me freaking that I am having this baby in 6 months!! THANKS!! Wow, I can't believe it is so close already... marathon and baby. I better get cross training with all of you!

I don't know Jen. Seems like what you have to do is a LOT harder than a marathon!

Hi folks! Hoping to join in with these discussions more, though I'm not a runner, I will be walking the DL 1/2 in just 2 months - my first race ever. I'm hoping for a pace of under 15 minute miles, currently training at lower than that but I'm trying to be realistic since this is my first race. :thumbsup2

DH is running the DL 1/2, he also ran the WDW 1/2 in January. He's going for that super cool third medal, the coast to coast one.

I know we met some of you in FL in January while waiting in line for the expo to open for packet pick up. We were in line with Scott and Lynn...Hi folks!!

Hi all!!!

Welcome home Matt!!! I too would like to know if and what you are doing in January (and Cheryl too! Say Hi to her, missed her at the Princess).

MEL! Your name is on that Goofy list!!! At least it had better be! I will be crushed if its not ;) Pain/misery loves company and all that :lmao:

My weekend miles start again tomorrow. Mon/Tues/Wed are just too hard for me to squeeze in anything, hopefully soon though.

Tracy that's an excellent looking bike! Very cool!

Hi to anyone I haven't met yet :flower3:

Drat back to work! LOL oh and Judy? 4:30 AM?!?!!?? :scared1: I am in awe of your commitment :worship:

Jackie - I am sooo feelin' the love! :goodvibes Thanks for the shout out!

Diane - It's either then, or it doesn't get done. But you have to know I'm in bed, asleep, by 9:30pm. At least, I should be! :rolleyes1

6 months!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Oh good grief. I better get my Butt in gear.:scared1:

Judy and all who do those early early morning hours :worship: Susan and Cathy prefer it during the summer to avoid the heat. Which is great except when there is a prod poking me awake  We finally found some inbetween ground. They start and I meet them in the middle then finish alone. Possibly the best thing in my life because otherwise I think they were going to kill me. :scared1: I have recently shown up as early as 7:30 and 8 am and you should have seen the runners falling over and the bikes colliding :lmao: I think everyone would have been less surprised to see someone walk on the lake

SUNNY! Hope the training is treating you well :cheer2:

Hi Karaeric! DL is a great race! Sounds like you've got a great plan with the training for under but leaving room for reality (don't ya hate when reality shows up? LOL) I have to check out the list of all the WISHers who are going. Susan and Cathy (my training buddies) are and we're asking who is joining them but don't expect to spot them. They are surprisingly on the shy side. Some of the people around here will be able to spot Susan since we were practically joined at the hip. Or as Anne calls her "oh your DIANE'S susan" :lmao: But what I find very wonderful is that you all are traveling all the way over THERE (i'm in MI) and you will find yourself running into everyone. Be on the look out for the green WISH bags, the green bracelets and of course the team shirts even at the Expo! :-D Wish I could join you all but will be there in spirit :cheer2:

Ooooh! WISH gear...yes, is there a way to get some of that? I know DH was loving the running hats that others had for the WDW 1/2.

Hi Kara!

I've been MIA for the last couple of months so not sure when the next orders will be made but I think the best chance would be ordering from Sunny's CafePress maybe? MEL (how's that for a shout out? lol) might be able to shed more light on this. But from the sticky link... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1831900

Looking at the link Tracy might have some info on visors.

I think the next order for things would be geared towards getting things in for the Marathon Weekend. BUT! NEVER FEAR!!!! Even if you are not wearing green with pre-stamped WISH on it (LOL) feel free to say HI! If you see someone running by in WISH definitely give a yell out GO WISH! In 2006 I didn't have a shirt and never felt alone. I spotted others in the shirts and even when not close enough kept them in sight to make me feel :goodvibes There are a few team mates that don't run in the WISH shirts.

For the corrals look towards the front of the corrals we tend to arrive early and you will probably have no troubles spotting the green :thumbsup2 Especially at DL with the way the corrals/waves are set up.

Aloha Kara,

I'm sure you're in a picture of mine from the expo line. This must be you.

Hi everyone,

It's my last week in Texas and it's been tough to get the training in. I'm still fiddling with my schedule. I'm not where I'd like to be but I'm not far enough behind that I can't fix it.

Any way so this week so far I've done a 23 minute 3 miler and 30 minutes of cross training.

Hi everybody...I'm new to WISH but I've been following you guys for a couple of days now :flower3: I registered for the WDW marathon on Sunday and just started "training" this week. This will be my 1st marathon (I did run a 1/2last year - when I was in much better shape :))

It looks like you guys are really supportive...mind if I join??

BTW...I ran/walked 3.07 today in a very slow 50mins

Hi Jeff! Yep, that's us next to Lynn and Scott!! Great pictures, thanks!

Just to keep myself honest, I'm here to report 45 min on the TM this morning, most of which was at 4%. My butt is killing me!! :rolleyes1

MelXThree - Consider yourself joined! :goodvibes You might want to review some of the info in the welcome post up top. You're right, this is an amazingly suportive group. Without them I wouldn't have a lovely collection of Disney bling hanging on my wall. :thumbsup2

Welcome MelXThree! This is an amazing group. Unfortunately, it's also highly addictive! :rotfl2:

Judy - Just to keep up, I went out and did 3 miles after work. Still can't drag myself out of bed in the AM, but as long as I do the miles, it counts, right? Congratulations on the 4%. I don't think my TM has ever seen that setting! (Maybe when DH is on it?)

Jackie

Just got back from my long run for the week. I did 10.6 and didn't push very hard but felt good. I love adding the long runs to the President's Challenge and jumping percentage points. Silver here I come!

I also decided I am adding the National Marathon (well, half for me) to the Indy Mini Marathon for my spring races next year. I have friends in DC so a free place to stay + running in the nation's capital = no brainer.

Welcome MelXThree. Good luck on your training.

8.25 miles in 1:11. Knocked a minute of our time from Tuesday.

Happy Aloha Friday peeps!

MelXthree: WELCOME!!!!!!

Judy: Wahooo you go girl!!!!

Jeff: you never cease to amaze me with the amount of mileage you log:cool2:

Frank: A free place to stay always adds to the allure of going somewhere for a race!!!!

Hey I was in that line up also!!!!! I recognize those people:rolleyes1 Oh wait, I am in the photo further down...told you I was there. :flower3:

I haven't been around for awhile because I have been slacking lately with nothing to report. I actually got out this AM and did a walk - it was only about 2.5 miles but at least it was something. Here is a picture from my walk this AM by the beach ~ hopefully I will be able to get out more often soon

Tricia! 2.5 in the AM is great! Love the view! Mornings are so hard to drag a body out somedays (for me always!) so Yay for you!!! :cheer2:
