Wk of July 22--WISH Walking/Running Club

Leana & Lily - pixiedust: for your doggies!

Renee - Killer humidity this morning! We did 15 miles, and I was just as wet when I got in the shower as I was when I got out.

MSDave - My vote is go ahead and register, but I don't have to live with your DW!

Cam - Congrats on great workouts while vacationing. We missed you too!

Our group did 15 miles this morning. I feel much better than I did two weeks ago when I did 14 - guess my body is getting used to this stuff!

Spending the afternoon waiting on DD - she went ice skating last night (up in your neighborhood Renee) and fell - has a black eye, bruised shoulder and bruised knee. It is NOT pretty!

Oh no! Hope it heals quickly. If you're ever there on a Thursday night, look for me at the soccer field!

By the way, I was at RRO (buying new shoes - yay!) and the girl helping me told me that the Raleigh marathon course was pretty hilly. She also said she had helped someone else running Disney -- it wasn't you, was it?

Dave - I'm not sure if you knew but if you go ahead and register for the Disney Marathon and then are not able to go you can transfer your registration to the following year. I think you may have to repay (maybe someone knows for sure) but you have a guaranteed spot. The online registration section has the actuals on this.

Dave: Minnie is right -- I had to do this a couple of years ago. If you register and cannot do it, and inform them a certain amount of time in advance, you get guaranteed registration next year. You do still have to pay the registration fee, though, so it would still mean you made a non-tac-deductible contribution to Mickey Mouse's retirement fund or something. But at least you would have a reserved spot next time.

Oh, and fwiw, I agree with everyone else -- go ahead and register!

Wasn't me, although we drove by there this afternoon and DH asked if I needed to go! I do need new shoes, but will probably go to Fleet Feet since they fitted me for the last pair.

And I'm hoping the worst of the hills are in the 2nd half of the course - I'm only doing the half!

Real quick, must run and make dinner.

Welcome back Cam and Howard.

As for training, I ran 14 this morning in 2:17. Very happy with my performance, perfect running weather (for the summer), it was still 77 at 6 a.m. and high humidity, but it as overcast with a nice breeze and a few occasional sprinkles of rain.

Back later to catch up.
