Good Morning Team:
83 degrees at 5:00am!!!
Scheduled rest day yesterday, so not too much to report. It's hot, hot, hot... I'm actually glad that I've gotten into the pool running routine because its an easy place to go to get out of the sun. Today's another SWOG and tomorrow I have the x-country race with my princesses, DD5
and DD8
. I'm planning on using all my beat the heat strategies we employed at WDW when we went last year over Labor Day. I'm bringing little fans and cool misters for the girls to stay cool.
Krista- That sounds really wierd your reaction to your run. I bet it was something you ate wasn't settling well. Good luck with your run today, and your 5K.
Mel- Glad your foot is feeling a little better. Seriously, I felt the same way as you about going to the pool. I don't really like going shirtless and wearing my swim suit in public. Plus, I felt really silly with my life jacket on. However, I just told myself it was what I needed to do for my training, and kept thinking about the big picture of getting ready for WDW. I just sucked it up and did it, and it has really been fine.
I like your state by state race idea. I'll have to think about it. The CRIM 10 miler in Flint, Michigan in August is a really fun festival of races. Wow, that Mount Desert Island Marathon sounds like a beautiful race. I couldn't find from the site whether they have a 1/2 marathon or not. Utica, NY is home of the Boilermaker 15K which has over 10,000 runners, but I've never run it so I can't say whether I'd recommend it or not. It's certainly a famous race. One final suggestion, you seem to be lacking the FLORIDA entry on your list!!!
Terri- Good to hear from you. Good work out on the elliptical.
Bekah- Wow, outside on the bike. WTG
Stay cool!
OK, off to do my leg exercises.

and I'm sick of the heat/humidity already. It is messing with my training. Yesterday the heat index was 110 & today it is supposed to be 105. Today is the kids last day of summer. School starts tomorrow. And we cant go swimming or to the water park because Seth has a funky, drainage ear infection/fungus so he cant get in the water for 5 days & after that has to wear ear plugs. The boys have had their moments of driving me crazy this summer, but it has still gone by way too fast. I'm not ready for them to go back (and for Seth to start at all) They are very excited, though, so that's good.
)is a fun event and the Azalea Trail Run 10k is a popular race. My parents have done both several times & enjoy them. Oh, and for TN, the Country Music Marathon (they have a 1/2 also) in Nashville is a great event. Glad your foot is doing better. I need some new shoes so I am going to ask about getting 2 different kinds. I've just been using the Aisics.
for you & your family. That is a tragic loss & my prayers are with you.
)
Thanks for clarifying. On teh bright side, my brain correctly remebered who it was that ran it last year.
), last night before I went to bed, I was counting how many calories I had that day and discovered I had less than 1000 calories! Yikes! So I ate a huge bowl of cereal and went to bed.
), but I can't tell you what I got him.

I think it might have something to do my internet settings. Now that I have "cleared my cookies" maybe the problem will be resolved.

I'm just thankful we didn't fall all the way down, lol, boy we sure were cruising down that moutain. We did see a deer, which was cool. Last week we were out driving and came upon a doe nursing 2 fawns, it was a beautiful and incredible sight to see!
