Good morning team!! Can you believe it's almost August?? This year is flying by. I had a pretty good run last night, I did 4 miles on the treadmill (I have to be honest and say I'm feeling pretty salty after hearing about you guys running 17 miles, 8 miles, etc), I finished in 43:58--I was pleased with that. It wasn't the best run, for some reason, my legs kept cramping and I had to stop a couple of times and stretch, don't know what that was about, but the important thing is I got my steps in. This week I think I'm doing 4-5-4 and then my 5K on Saturday, I'm really trying to get my mileage up before training starts in 22 days (

).
Dave--Sorry about the post, I HATE when that happens!

I wanted to remind you, or maybe point out to you that you need to be sort of liberal with guesstimating your marathon pace and finish time. The marathon starts at 6:00, but you might not cross the start line until 10 minutes later, depending on what corral you are in. For the half, it took me 12 minutes to get up to the start line, I was in corral F, now the marathon should be a little better because there are 2 start lines, but it may still take you 5-10 minutes to even cross the start line. Also, for the first couple of miles, the course is a little congested and you could be running a slower pace while you try to weave in and out of people.
Christa--

I am SO sorry that you are sick, I hope that you are feeling better soon. Thank goodness you stopped when you did during your run.

for feeling better.
Lily--I am REALLY going to miss you if you can't make it to Disney. I hope that everything gets worked out and you are there.
Carrie--Awesome job on your 10K! I can't believe the finish line was on a hill! What's up with that??
Heather--Great to "see" you again. Good luck trying to get in all your runs, I still don't know how you do it.
Colleen--I'm glad your back! We missed you! Great job on your half, I would kill to finish a half in 2:15--you are speedy!!
Mel--Rest that foot!!!
Sara--Have a great time on your cruise, I am jealous!!! I know it's a couple of months out, but you'll have to let me know about the Marine Corp marathon after you run it, that's on my list of marathons to run. Although I don't know how I would handle running past the monuments and through Arlington without crying--I am such a basket case!
Pat--Sorry about the stonker, I hate runs like that.
Kathy--Good to "see" you again, I wish you would check with us more often. I've been thinking about Lynne lately, Stephen and I are starting to look for a new car, probably won't get one until next summer, but I've been reading consumer reports and doing comparisons on the different SUV's. What does that have to do with Lynne? One of my favorite SUV's is the Nissan Xterra, whenever I read about it or see, I think of Xterratri.
I better start working, I have to leave early for a dentist appointment, not looking forward to that!!
