Cam and jodi!!!!
jodi - Thanks for the cool pics!! Looked a little steamy there!
cam - I'm guessing that SuperHoward will be better after teh Goofy athan Scott and I after teh full last year. I'm also guessing tha toyu may be similar to how we were.

That being said, walking to dinner should still be an option, the more you walk, teh ebtter you'll feel. However, leave plenty of time.
Mel - I know what you mean about lack of races. There's 10K this Satruday that is tempting me, but I keep hearing about "5 MIle Hill" . Hmmm, maybe not.
Helen -

It takes so long ot get over our furbabies. Being home alone all day must make it worse.

that you can find a new kitty soon!
Sunny - Thanks for the clippie!
Bekah - Wow, you're going all out. I got tired reading about your work outs!
Krista - Bummer about your car. I lost a timing chain once, but my little escort had over 160,000 miles on it. That shoudl not have happened at 50,000!
Sorry, I know I missed abunch of you!!!! Being busy at work last week along with being a slacker has me way behind adn I must admit to only skimming.
We set out to do 5 Saturday adn I felt great in teh begininng. We flew. I am paranoid that I will not havea nythign left at the end and I think that really slows me down, so I went with it. Well, the hill sand the heat hit about half-way through and life got tough. However, I ended up adding too much distance on, we were not at our home path, and I over ocrrected. I was feeling lousy with a half mile to go and told Scott I would likely stop at 5 and walk home (mom and dad's). Well, I hit a patch of shade and decided to go all the way. Even knowing tha tI had a good half mile hill. Poor Scott is not as familiar with the area and did not realize we had to run the whole hill.

I ended up at 5.85. Had I knwo I would have been tha tclose, would have goen fo r6.
However, I do not see us running tha tcourse again. Ther is a lot of time on shoulders adn my knee started to hurt on the last hill. My hip hurt a bit later in the day too. This is close to where I screwed up my hip last year. So, we will be going to the local park from now on. They have an 8-mile bike path. It's wayyy hilly, but I do not want ot get hurt again!
Fun update! We had my Aunt's 70th b-day party on Saturday. We had cousins in from CA, TX, KY, and FL. Now, my cousin from FL watched us at the marathon. When she arrived, not being a mornign person, she askewd, "SO, we have to get up by like 6 tomorrow?"
I sheepishly replied, "I htink you need to catch teh bus by 5:00."
She took it in stride and I guess got up just fine at 4 am. She left right after the race when my parents did , thgouh. Throough the grapevine (I'm not oeverly close with my cousins, tehy are all older than me and most of them are out of state), anyway, I heard that she had a great time, althuogh she had to take a nap at a rest area on the way home.
When we saw her at the party, she said, "I hear you guys are gonna' run again next year. I'll have to plan it better so that I can stay and do the parks with you some next year."
So, in addition to all the other wonderful things teh marathon has done for me, it's given me a new firendship with my cousin. How cool is that?
