Hey guys! Just finished catching up with all the posts. This thread is moving fast again this week!
Kevin—I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your co-worker. Our thoughts and prayers are definitely with you. Glad to have you back here. We all missed you!
Christa—awesome pics of the shirt run! That looks like so much fun, and I especially like the dog in the last pic with the shirt!.
Maria—WTG on the morning run! That’s dedication, especially if you’re not a morning person.
Cam—glad the hands and feet are healing (at least somewhat). You’re right, wear those badges of honor proudly. Next time anyone says, “Yeah, I could probably do a half marathon/marathon,” just show them the feet and ask them if they could deal with that!
Helen—good job on the biking. Hope everything continues to go well with your feet. Keep us posted.
Mike—you had me rolling with the Inner Kenyan stuff. That’s great!
Chernabog—WELCOME and congrats on the weight loss and fitness! WTG on registering for the 5K. You should probably be warned that after you register for that first race, you’ll be addicted. Next thing you know, you’re surfing the web looking for any race within 500 miles that you can sign up for. Not that that’s happened to any of us before!
Mel—I know what you mean, there is so much to do in the first 30 minutes after a LR. Between eating, stretching, ice bath, changing clothes, shower….. And we wonder why the non-runners/walkers in our lives don’t understand how a LR can take us the better part of an entire morning. WTG on the good treadmill run.
Jen—WELCOME!! Nice job on the 5 miler! Don’t worry about the looks you get from others when you tell them what you’ve signed up for—we’ve all been there. Just put the steps in and you’ll be fine.
Dave—WTG on the pace! Don’t you just hate it when those 10.0 mph people jump on a treadmill next to you? And it always happens when you’re finishing a really good run, and then they get up there and make you feel about 2 inches tall.

Next time, just lean over and tell them, "Hey, I'm in touch with my inner Kenyan. Are you?"
Ashley, Jackie, Sara—good for you for getting the miles in!
Cam—I just read your last post about the Polar Bear Plunge. You guys are crazy! Ice baths are one thing, the Polar Bear thing is another! We’ll be sending

for good weather conditions for you. I’m not going to lie—I don’t envy you guys this weekend!
Sunny-

about the ice bath. You’re going to scare all the ice bath newbies away!
Not a whole lot of crazy training to report. I lifted and did 45 minutes on the stationary bike last night (I REALLY can’t wait for it to warm up so I can get my real bike out on the road). I’m thinking about trying out a spinning class this weekend. Never done that before, but I know it would get me back into biking shape so that when it does warm up, I’m ready to go again. What do you guys think of those classes? Are they really worthwhile, especially for keeping in “biking shape?”
I’ve got a 5 mile run to do tonight, and I might actually cave in and do it on the treadmill. I know, I know, I raved about all this cold weather and how great it was, but it really is starting to wear on me.
Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
Steve
