Hello, TEAM!!
The weekend is upon us. Those LR's and LW's are out there waiting for us. I thought I would share some FAT FREE desserts..

The puzzle cookie has a picture of Mickey and Minnie that you get to "paint" with the frosting!! :goodvibes

Anne - you are killing me! I want a Mickey cake!

Judy
- are you ever going to respond to my email about our "deal?" ;)

Angie - I am with you about xt. I never xt. I am determined to start though!

Today is my rest day according to Hal Hidgon.
But Chad & I are going to go get him some new shoes - does that count?;)
Seems that hubby of mine did the Goofy this year in shoes that were over 2 years old!
And don't get me going on the cotton socks he wears...
(hi honey - love you!)

Krista - just got the new Runner's World mag (best friend got me a subscrip for Christmas) and it has an article on Paula Radcliffe. I didn't read the whole thing but I thought of you because the story is called Pregnant Pause and it talks about her pregnancy (ok she ran an "easy" 10k at 6 months preg in something like 42 minutes!!! :scared1: oh and she slowed her pace to 6:30 miles instead of 5:30 :scared1: :scared1: ) Besides that the story really looks interesting.

Ms. Duck - yes we had a great time at the P&P party. My neice hadn't been to WDW since 2004 when she was 7. She is now 10 and wanted to ride all those rides that :scared1: her before just to see if she was still scared!! Of course she wasn't!! She did tell me she was a little scared on Dinosaur but I reminded her it wasn't real. The party was fun -I just wish I would have been able to see the parade (too crowded and we got over there too late  ) but the fireworks were excellent.

All who are sick - :wizard: take care of yourselves and get better.

Debra - don't tell anyone but at times I like my TM as well. Lately though I have felt like  when I get on it.

Right now I don't really have a training schedule but I am trying to get a little something in there so I don't die when I start 15k training in the end of Feb. I am doing a 5k next Sunday but I am not too worried about that (I probably am more worried about getting there on time since last race that was right down the street I was almost late - at least at this race I know its going to be chip timed so I will be sure to get my chip!!) I might pull my bike out after work and go for a ride - start out the mile championship good!! ;)

Happy Friday everyone!!! :cool2:

ANgie - OMG, you guys ran 5 days a week and never did XT? HAve you read MFM? Even though you a by nomeans a starter, I think you would benefit greatly from talk of over training and inspiration stories. (I must admit I'm not great at XT, but started yoga in AUgust adn I think it's the only reason I'm still running and made it through the marathon.)

Anne - I'm hungry now! Thanks fro teh fun pix!

Kristi - 2YR old shoes and cotton socks? :faint:

Sandy - One More Mile has contests fro new shirt logans. One of my favorites was "Toenails are for SIssies!" Welcome to teh club! ;)

OMG, I remember when I was queen (or co-queen) of long posts around here. I'm thinking Duckie would have kicked my booty even then, though! It's so great to get teh excitement from teh newer team members agin. Thank you!

Hi team!

I got my two new friend out and they're all exciting about finding a 5K to train for - it's pretty cool! I hope I can help them to keep up their motivation and get them as strangely addicted as we all are! After they left (we had to do the indoor track today) I did a little bike to finish getting warmed up and then weights.

Krista - I thought about you today; at the Y they had a magazine called "Fit Pregnancy" that may help you out as you try to figure this out. (I didn't read it as I live in a relatively small town and didn't want to start any rumors!)

Angie - XT will really help you. I didn't xt when training for the half and had lots more issues than I did training for the full with xt. I'm not crazy about it either! My goal this year is to add more weight training. (And "more" won't be hard!)

Anne - Yum!

Sandy - I have 4 words for you: dark red nail polish. Welcome to the club!

Have a great weekend!
(and go Herc's Heroes!)

Many o fus have the chips, because they're more fun than teh standard cip adn we have to buy al things running or Disney. ;) The chip they give you is just fine, though, and they will make sure it works at the expo.

Here's the link to percent capacity.

Thanks Carrie

I click on the link but, it does not come up.:confused3

I guess I need to read up on what XT involves because Carrie mentioned Yoga and now you mentioned weights. I love both of those and do both of those so maybe it won't be so bad after all. :)

Angie - MfM counsiders XT to be anything that isn't running or walking. Walking is not XT for a runner because it uses too many of the same muscles. XT is supposed to work teh mroe supporting muscles.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Friday!

Well didn't get to gym last night as it took over an hour to get home (usually a 30 min drive). However as I shoveld last night and this morning I don't feel too bad about it. 8" of snow takes a bit to clear.

Working from home today :surfweb: so will be able to get into gym a little earlier this afternoon. Going to pick up an exerbike this weekend which will be great and trying to find a good running store to see about getting fitted for shoes. Mine just don't seem to feel right lately.

Thanks for the info on the TM. Always do seem to move faster outside. I just racked it up to enjoying being outside and not have that console in my way.

Greetings all! We are having a lovely ice storm! Grrrrrrrrrr. :cold:

Somehow I really pulled something in my right hip. I don't know how, could be old age. It didn't bother me when I was on the TM this morning though. I did 40 min and mixed it up a bit. Added some inclines and sprints. It was hard but felt really good!

Krista
- Did you get the new RW yet? It has an article just for you! :yay:

Angie - I'm SO with you on the lack of XT thing. I am very very bad about that. I keep trying to do something else, yoga, Pilates, strength training. I really MUST! You are so right. We NEED to XT. :woohoo:

OptimatorMike - I was wondering where you went! Yea, but you know you sure say some pretty funny things! We count on you for that! :lmao:

Anne! Anne, that is so mean! :cake: It's not even a scratch and sniff! So, are you sending me a piece or what??? I LOVE that Mickey cake! Can you make me one? Hu? Please please! :yay:

Kristi - Yes, yes I am. I'll do it right now. Let me think.....getting out calculator...2008 = 47, 2009 = 48, 2010 = 49, 2011 = Full!

Paul
- You out there?

OK, I think I officially have walkers/runners block. After shutting things down in December to try and work out the latest back issues, I have been unable to get going again. I only have 49 weeks, 18.5 hours until the 2009 WDW half marathon start and need to get moving (and losing if I want one of the new team tech shirts). I have mapped out a training plan for most of the year, dusted off the old shoes (which have relatively low milage), bought a new set of shoes for later as they were really cheap (close out, plus sale, plus discount code and I figure I probably won't get too many hundreds of miles on my shoes given my weight). I also sent in my registration for 2009 2 weeks ago and am excited about being there this time, being ready and partying with the WISHers. Only problem is, I just can't get the steps started. I know its time to just "Do It" (tm Nike, Inc.), but I am starting to think I am developing a fear of possibly succeeding at this crazy idea of mine to be a distance athlete.

Oh, by the way, don't tell Senior Master Sargent/Captain Big Vic I came here to get this off my chest. He may try to trade me for a late round draft pick and future considerations in the Challenge Game.

Bill, you can do this. You NEED to do this for yourself. Don't make me drive down there......

Hey Bill -- know how you feel as the 2009 WDW 1/2 will be my first one as well but last fall I just decided to get up off the couch and start moving. Hardest part is starting but believe me - once you get going it's not only much easier to stay moving but it just feels good - mentally and physically. Did the 5K in Jan this year and can't wait for my next one!

So come on and just take that first step!

Bill - Start small. I don't know what training plan you are using, but don't start with anything too overwhelming. When I started training for the 2007 Half I started with 20 min on the TM at 3.2 and I was THRILLED! Start small and keep adding, no more than 10% a week. And hang around here. We'll keep you going.

Bill: Judy is absolutely right....slow and steady will get you where you need to be every time.
