WK of Jan 25 - WISH Team Walkers and Runners

I'm working on it, Tracy....I've been having some great ideas (and I bought some hot pink sparkly nail polish, too!).

I think the infection is moving into my chest--I have the deep seal bark cough this morning, and I know from past experience that this is not a good sign.

I took two weeks off after the half, and now I'm too sick to do much. I'm going to try to just stretch later, but when I move around I cough so that's not good.

I miss my WISH friends.
And Mickey Mouse.
 
Good morning!

Duckie I hope you feel better.

I missed my run this morning. For some reason I had it in my head for 7:30 so I got up at 6:30 and started piddling around. At 7 I picked up the car keys and the address for the start and realized... IT STARTED AT 7. So I went back to bed LOL!

Probably good. Got up at 9 and NO WATER (AGAIN!) They found the leak in our complex. I am not happy with the "notifications" This is the SECOND night this week that have gone out well after most of us are HOME for the evening and put out flyers saying "no water tomorrow" I think it's time for me to get on this board. These women are idiots. LOL! (This fix should have been done two months ago, instead they sent out 10 notices telling us that we had to have OUR units inspected for drips... heck with as much water as we are talking about you had to have a FLOOD, not a drip.)

Not sure when I will get my run in this weekend. Must have water for the clean up!
 
Ms Duckie? Were you running with Tracy in the Half by the rock 'n roll or Country speakers before the Contemporary?

Hope your able to get the airfare for the Princess!!!

Allie it's Sat and i hope your son's feet are doing well today, I seem to recall there was a game today?

CarolHope your water situation resolves itself soon. With all the snow we've been getting, water wouldn't be an issue here--well, it would require melting, but I suppose we could make that work!

Oh I am so bad... I just changed a trip to Disney from May to March and it's the week BEFORE the Princess. After swearing i wouldn't do it do I change again and try? Maybe just the 5K? Hmm....
 
Carol? Do you REALLY want us to make that decision for you? They're a bunch of enablers! Course I'm not like that LOL But come on, that close? How are you currently avoiding the temptation? I'd be shaking in my chair if I was booked tHAT close. :rotfl2: Come play! You know you wanna!

This said by the woman who's DH is kicking her butt to the gym and not being subtle... he's literally going to drive me there so I don't get out of it again :lmao:
 
I finished my third week of being a part of this sport called running;)

and I'm feeling GREAT :thumbsup2

I managed a 15 min jog on Monday, 10 min Wed, 30 min of yoga Thurs, and a 15 min jog today. yeah me:cool1:

Next week I'm starting/switching to the c25K plan, which I hope will end with me actually participating in a 5k. Sights still set on that 1/2 in Jan 2010 though.

I was thinking of you and all the other newbies this morning... we were out for our 10 mile run and I was remembering 3 years ago before I started when I wouldn't have been caught dead 1) being up at 7:00am, 2) outside being active in 30 degree weather, or 3) running. Here I was doing all 3 and loving it! All thanks to the WISH team, who've kept me at this since my first 5K. It was a fabulous run too - first long one since the marathon, and it was really good to be back out there, although I won't be lying when I say I'm glad it's over!

Allie - Most of our local running stores carry Thorlo, so I would think you should be able to find those.

Duckie - Sounds like it might be time to see the doc?

- Sorry you missed the run. We did 10, but planned the route so that part of the group could only do 6. It would definitely have been a bummer to come home to no water though! It's not okay to NOT let people know!

Shan - You'd asked earlier about Galloway's books. Each year they give us a copy of his Training Program book when we sign up, so I have an extra copy. If you want, PM me and I'll send you one. I'll end up with a third copy this spring as soon as I re-join.

Changed plane ticket. (I was still within the penalty free change on DL) and the price went down.

Just extended my SSR reservation....

Guess I better head over to Disney and pay them the fee.

not sure HOW I will explain this one to they boyfriend... And this will make four halfs in four months. I AM AN IDIOT!!!! WE HAVE PROOF!

Water is back on! YEAH!

So as soon as I get off the phone with DVC I am heading out to do 8 miles. It's pretty here and will be much more enjoyable then it would have been at 7 AM, just more boring by myself.

I forgot to update yesterday... shame shame. lol anyway I finished my first week of C25K! Yay Me! :rotfl:

The Princess Medal looks so great- I wish I could run that this year! I want it!

deekaypee- I have been doing that. I think my leg just wasn't used to all this work- it was fine yesterday on my run so it's cooperating now :) Thanks!

I also have a question about teams if anyone would like to share- What exactly are the teams for and would you recommend joining one? Thanks all!

Katarina - I would most definitely recommend a team! I am on the Buzz Brigade. It is a friendly competition between WISHers. We keep track of our miles and minutes of exercise. Then we see who does the most at the end. Although I have to say I have NO IDEA who won last year. :confused3 It is a great way to get to know a smaller group of the bigger WISH team. You can still post here on the weekly thread to keep up with everyone else. Having the team helped keep me committed to my exercise goals. windwalker (Dave) and escape (susie) are getting our teams organized for the new year. Send one of them a PM, and get thyself on a team NOW! :goodvibes If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Yes that was Duckie (Jen) and me and her husband (Noah). I was with them from about the TTC to about Main Street or so.

The Thorlos may be out at your local running stores soon or maybe they got an early shipment. I haven't found them online yet. I love my other thorlos but liking the design of these eith the padding being in just the right areas.

Alli: how is your son's feet. I was going to ask how his shoes fit?? Are they a good size for him. Could try use some GLIDE, like runners do on there feet to prevent blisters.

Thanks. I have a $25 coupon for my local running store, so I can see a pair of those sock in my future. ;)

He's healing up nicely, but he has a game this afternoon so we'll see how it goes. Jeff recommended the body glide but I don't have any so we are going to try Vaseline today. Plus I have him some Cool Max sock to wear. They are much more "cushy" than his plain cotton socks were. I hope it goes well AND that they win! :cheer2: I'm sure there will be a report on my FB tonight if they do. ;)

His shoes seem to be fine. They are an 11 1/2! There is a thumb nail amt. of room at the tip, which is what was recommended.

Just back did my 8 miles with an averge time of 11:31 per mile! New PR for me! LOL!

Now off to see if we still have water. Cross your fingers!
