I can't keep up!!!! Work is killing me. I keep checking in to speed read the posts but don't have time to reply. I've missed a bunch.
Welcome newbies

You'll love it here.
Lisa-- when you said 40 lbs, were you refering to the leg press? Is it a free weight machine, or a nautilus where you set the pins? I ask because the free weight machines bar and deck are substantial weight unloaded. The press I use is 90 lbs unloaded. So if that's the case, maybe you did 130?
Cam-- I only do those ridiculous amounts on the leg press, not even the squat machine. I don't know what it is about that leg press. But I really need to cut back, my legs are a bit to, um, sturdy. I was shocked at photos of me at WDW in shorts.
Speaking of leg press... Today is Sore Butt Wednesday, which means tomorrow will be Even Sorer Butt Thursday! Oh its good to be back in the routine.
MelR-- what a riot! I guess she removed just the one blemish above the shoulders

The Boy looks like a chop off the ole block. What a great pic.
Oh you guys are killing me with the Minnie. I have held back the urge to check flights but I'm getting shakey.
Cathy-- those are great runners quotes. I identified with so many of them. It brought to mind one of the peculiarities I've noticed (there are so many): On LR days I can pop out of bed at 5AM without the need of an alarm clock, all my gear laid out and ready to go. But M-F I hit snooze until I'm 40 minutes late getting out of bed. Then the kids and I have to get ready "fire-fighter style", scrambling for clothes while brushing teeth.
"jump in your clothes and lets go"
"but Mom, I haven't finished my breakfast"
"grab your cereal bowl and get in the car"
"where's my lunch?"
"Good Grief, you need a lunch, too?!?!? grap a slim fast off my running supply shelf and let's go"

(just kidding, I'm exagerating...
a little)
On another note, I have had to acknowledge a few subtle hints that my unmentioned body part needs a break from running for a few days. Little things like finding myself side-stepping down stairs and involuntarily screaming when DS bumps it. I'm listening, though. I did 50 minutes of elliptical trainer today. How boring. The only fun part is seeing how high I can spike the strides per minute readout. I managed 278 today. I looked like a raving lunatic. That's part of the fun.
Christa-- that is horrible news. I must admit I am getting kind of creeped out about runing alone. I have looked into local running clubs but they don't quite fit with my family schedule. I like the loud noise thing. I'll look into that.
