Good morning team! Oh, how I wish I were in WDW still--it's snowing and cold here, like 10 degrees I think. I know that's a heat wave for
Jen!! I still haven't run since we got home, I'm just so tired when I get home all I want is my sweats (they still fit!), the couch, and a good book. I'll be 12 weeks on Monday, so hopefully I'll start to snap out of the tiredness stage.
Oh, my gosh, let me tell you how crazy the people are on ebay. Every year Disney keeps changing the sizing of their marathon technical shirts, the first year (2006) Stephen got a large shirt (not sure why, but he did) and it was HUGE on him, so last year, he got a medium shirt (which is what he wears) and it was skintight, this past marathon he ordered a large again and again it's gigantic on him. So 3 Disney marathons and zero shirts he can wear. I thought I would go on ebay and see what I could find. There was a medium full marathon technical shirt with the auction up last night. Awesome! I've been watching the auction since Monday, the entire time it was around $30. I told myself I would only spend $50 on the shirt. So last night with a minute to go and the bid at $41, I put in my bid of $45. It told me the top bid was at $65! I was like no way, so I declined to bid and by that time the auction was over.
The shirt went for $86!!!! $86 for a running shirt! I couldn't believe it. Are these people crazy? And the person who won the auction probably didn't even run the marathon!
WW Dave--The miles game sounds like fun, but I think my training may be too inconsistent this year that no one would want me on their team. Especially this summer! Although we could probably count labor and delivery as cross training.
Jen--Congrats on going to the Minnie! That sounds like such a fun weekend, too bad it's the same time as the Flying Pig. I didn't ask you over marathon weekend, but is the situation at home getting any better?
Mel--The Eye2Eye shirts sound too good to be true! Thanks for researching this.
Angie--We're going to see The Spirit of the Marathon tonight too, hopefully we'll have time for dinner before. I guess this is the official WISH date night!
I haven't posted anything on the individual threads, but I wanted to thank everyone for posting your marathon reports. I know what a beast the marathon is and if you had the run 26.2 miles on any other day, the outcome could have been different. Be very proud of yourselves for training and keeping up with training, be very proud of yourselves for getting up in the middle of the night and getting to the start line, and be very proud of yourselves for doing the best you could in conditions that were horrible. You guys rock!!!
