Aw Tiff, that is so bad that your ressie got mixed. I will hope it sorts out.
Maggie, Yay for that core class. You need to do many of those. It may make that difference you need. Good idea to cut back some until your able to get it going again.
Mel, beautiful pic of those gals.
Lilouisianagal, Welcome to our team!
So, do both!
Sounds like you can do it. You are already faster than me and I made it. Ya just need to put in those steps for the distance and youll be good to go.
Cam, I love those events youve got lined up.
Dave, good that you decided to cut back. Its ok to slow down some just now. You are doing great!
Christy, good going. Keep at it now! You are right, it is just around the corner. Put in that training GF!
Jen117, Welcome to the WISH Team! You dont absolutely have to register now, but if Im around I will tell ya to do it! It makes the training experience so much more fun. That you have been working on the TM already puts you well into this. You will have 3 ½ hours (16 minutes for a mile pace) to do this. We will recommend you try to achieve a 15 minute for a mile pace to make your event finish certain.
Advice=stop at the top of this thread for info about some things. There is a wealth of info. Ask all ya want. Many answers here for sure. I would recommend picking a program to follow so you have an outline of what to do. Personally I am using the book Marathoning for Mortals by John Bingam and have found certain results with that. Stop in often and hope this is good to get you started.
AmyBeth68, sushi theory.. Eyyyyyewww! But if it works
Kevin, if you need any help with that Goofy plan, I can attest to the site that the North Caroline reps (Crista and Bree right?) posted at tricharlotte.com. that relates in your training program whatever you are going to follow (again, I did MfM) when the miles got to 12/week LR then split half on day 1 and full amount on day 2, take off day b4 and day after to recover. In the meantime train yourself up well as you are already doing. It should be a walk in the park by then!
Well, The Minnie, hmmmm, I so want to do it, but it may not all be in alignment for me. After sleeping on it I have some concerns. First off, my little one at work is off all the week following the event. That would mean the best I could do would be to return Monday and see if my boss would be ok with sitting the office. (Sometimes we need to do this, so Im thinking the need is there right?) Then I checked flights from Cleveland to Orlando and Akron to Orlando. They are quite expensive. There is a possibility of an affordable scenario, but all depends on Boss for Monday off. Otherwise coming home late Sunday really cranks up the price. Then there is the room thing, but I am sure it will be something that can be worked around once I get the other stuff. Notice I didnt let the idea creep in that yesterday was not a good pace for me and that today DH and I went for a 2 ½ miler and it was all I could do to keep up with him! Pace? Well, 19:13 for a mile. Oh my!
The scenery on the trail was special. It appears that we have a bald eagle nest site where our great blue heron rookery is and the parks have closed down the area for now. We walked up where the viewing site is and it is a nice thing to see. Mr. and Mrs. Eagle were not home just then however. I look forward to the event. This will top the sightings Ive enjoyed thus far. WISH me luck for tomorrows scheduling.
