Amy, so sorry to hear about your difficulties.
Just remember all those months you put down a good base. It won't disappear in a week or two. Keep up with your treatments and cross training this week and see how things are next week.
Oh and yes, walking is hard! I started a 5 run 1 walk in an attempt to do that for the half and I was really sore after! You walkers rock! And those of you who walk 13, 14, 15 minute miles, all I can say is WOW, I could barely keep a 16 minute mile walk going!
Check out the new thread on the $40 off shoes I posted!

If I wasn't so techno-challenged I'd post the link to the meet thread; but basically there is a poll going to choose a new meet location for Friday night. Last time I checked Pop Century food court was way ahead. Hope to see you there!
so hard that I couldn't even read it to Howard. And my poor furbaby, Cali, came over to see why I was laughing so hysterically hard that I was hiccupping!
, SuperStrengthNoseHairMan, etc. and having all this fun without him.
I made it 12miles in 2:13. Now I feel like I'm going to die! Oh, and found out tonight that once you reach 99min99sec on my TM it comes to a screeching stop! No gradual slowdown--just stop! That was painful! Now it's off to soak and shower for me--then to collapse in bed!
to find your Garmin!

You people say, you know they can't believe. Jamaica's got a bobsled team. (not quite right but the music's in my head)

Love you, Lily!
I'm feeling pretty good today (thanks for asking Carrie), I ran last night for the first time since Saturday. I took it verrry easy, doing r3/w2 running at 10:54 and walking at 13:05--ave 12.07 miles, basically 2 minutes per mile slower than what I had been doing, but I think it helped. I did 3.5 miles (I couldn't decide if I should 3 or 4 miles
) and I was basically okay. I had a little pain up in my quad, but it never worked it's way down to my knee, digging out my ITBS band probably helped with that. I may have to run the marathon a little slower than I hoped and I may not be able to do 5/1 like I planned, but I'm still going to be able to run the marathon and that make me want to
. I am so sorry. But you have an amazing base built up and I think you will do just fine in the marathon. Just keep up with your cross training for the next month and I really think you will be good to go. I read in Runners World a few months ago that some guy got hurt while training for a marathon and ended up doing all of his training on an elliptical machine. Not only did he finish his marathon, but he had a PR. It's completely possible to run a marathon when you can only cross train, once you have a solid base. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Krista - Good to hear!!! Yeah, my parents are comning this weekend...OPlus, if I don't get things pickedf up soon, there'll eb no room for Christmas decorations.
