Yipededodah, yipedeeeah, I just ran 22 miles today - it's over, I am trained, I go do no more except descend into taper madness (weeeeeeeeeee........).
It was an interesting run - about 2hrs 40 in, I think I met the wall - never have before, don't fancy it again. About 2.20 my stomach started rumbling and I felt the need to walk, by 2.44, even running 2 steps was too many - thankfully, there was a handy Mars bar (do you have those?) providing store nearby so I scarfed it down - causing much hilarity from the cyclists outside as I'm cramming in chocolate in my gym kit.
So I set off again, at 4.05 I'm thirsty (thanks chocolate) and have spent all my emergency money - so I head home, grab a glass of water then sneak off the gym in our basement and run the last 20 mins on the treadmill - first 15 at 9km an hour - last 5 at 10km. I managed to shuffle my shuffle so Black Parade was my last song - thankfully no-one else was in there, because I was singing and crying at the same time (the bit where it says 'you'll never break me' gets me every time). It was the best way to end training ever - and now I know I can do this thing.
Hope everyone else had a good one, bring on the pirate speak. Helen
