Wk of Aug 5--WISH Walking/Running Club

Stephanie--- There you are doing the ADR for the marathon and I'm still working on my Oct. ADR.

Jeanne-- You should go for the pedicure. My toes are terrible. My purple toenails finally fell off and there were only stubble toenails there which even with nail polish looked terrible especially the great toes. With the pedicure they filled down the nail and filled it in as a gel nail my toes haven't looked that good in years.

I am so sorry that I just can't keep up with everyone's posting, but I am so impressed with those that can train outside in all this heat and humidity. Not me I am doing it inside with the A/C.

Nancy

Nancy--My adr's in Oct were easy-not much left available--only made one for Friday night at WCC, for a late dinner. We're doing MNSSHP on Sunday night and F&W on Sat.

Leana--I think the ressie at Spoodles is for 5:10. Looked like they had some decent pre-full food--and since we're at BWV anyway, it was easy

Kim--that's why I don't consult anyone on my ADRs!:rotfl: I choose, they just have to like it, or do it themselves!

Don't say that, Stephanie, we haven't made our ARD's for October yet!!!

SW Dave--Who said you had to run the marathon to come to WDW in January? ;)

Stephanie/Krista--- I must have lucked out with my ADR as I have had no problem. In the past week I have made new reservations and changed some around by adding people without a problem.

Nancy

Okay, so I had to post this here b/c no one else really cares. I made some ADRs for Jan. Makes it seem all the more real--Friday night 11th, Ohana for dinner; Sat. morn. 12th, Cape May for breakfast (after cheering on our 1/2 teammates!); Sat. night Spoodles for early dinner; Sun night 13th, Rose and Crown dinner! So exciting! The planning is half the fun!
Ack! You mean you're not coming to the Friday WISH meet? :sad1:

Is everyone eating at the WISH meet? My folks were wondering, and I was debating as to whether I needed to make an ADR post WISH meet.

Leana--In the past we have all eaten dinner together and while we were eating, visited with each other. I don't think any plans have been made for January yet, but I thought the Pop Century Food Court was awesome this past year. Way better than Trails End the year before.

Nancy: I'll think about the pedicure, but I'm still so embarassed to have anyone see them. Plus I know the workers at the nail salon will discuss how ugly my feet are .......and I won't be able to understand a single word of it! :scared1:

I just wanted to let everyone know... you DON'T have to eat at the WISH meet. I was there but didn't eat because I had to rescue my kids from the grandparents. So if you want to make an ADR later, I don't think anyone would mind if you didn't eat. I think we met at 4:00 ish, chatted, took a picture and then people started ordering food.

Sometimes I'm so clueless.......please fill me in when the WISH meet is.

Jeanne, I believe it is on the Friday at the POP food court, around 4 pm.

Kristi - I tried to record my running on a calendar but didn't keep it up. Maybe investing in a journal would get me to do it

I'm using 3 different methods (call me obsessive!) - Galloway's training journal (a freebie I got for paying to join the group), a spreadsheet in Excel, and I just started trying out the training log Runner's World has online.

PatsBill - I'm not bringing my kids either to marathon weekend, but I am bringing DH (he's doing the half)

I was hoping our DD's would get to hang out together, since they're practically neighbors!

I agree that the Pepper Market is the one sore spot with the Coranado. We stayed there last time and the people who do the cooking and serving were not the normal "Disney" friendly. We had a lot of problem with our room key/dinning card, either mine or Erica's would stop working. We had never had this problem at other resorts.

We had never had that problem until our June stay at Wilderness Lodge, but I lost count of the number of times we had our keys remade. They had everything coded wrong for our tickets - it got pretty ugly! We've stayed at Coronado too - I felt like it was way too convention-oriented and didn't feel as Disney-ish as the other resorts.

Colleen - You're not planning to run OUTSIDE today, are you?

It's officially 103 right now, with a heat index of 110. Glad I did weights this morning INSIDE! Am waiting to hear if band camp is cancelled for the evening session or if DH and I are supposed to work that shift. Guess tomorrow is another TM day...

Jeanne - this is the meet for January. I don't remember details on the October meet.

I have a few different places I keep track of my runs. My main online journal is through nikerunning.com. I also have a spiral bound Runner's World one that I like.

Yikes, sounds like you guys are dealing with some terrible weather down there. Talk about a 180 turn around here. It is 57 deg and overcast, and rain on the way. Here's hoping it holds off for a few more hours so I can get my run in.

Well, well.... you go away for a few days and miss all of this... you all are as prolific in posts as you are in miles!

I wanted to post my results from a run I made last night in the stifling heat. I think it was about 94 degrees with a heat index of just over 100.

8 Miles (My LR in recent history)

Mile 1: 9:51
Mile 2: 9:19
Mile 3: 9:16 (I pushed it up to the 5k point finished in 29:10)
Mile 4: 15:09 (Then I walked a bit, hydrated, "cooled" down - a relative word.
Mile 5: 13:40
Mile 6: 14:23
Mile 7: 12:40
Mile 8: 11:33

I am psyched about the CDC this weekend and spending some time with all of you that can make it.

Safe Travels!

Jackie

Oh, no Jackie, I ran 6.2 inside on the treadmill at the gym. I think it only got to 101 over here in the Foothills.

Howard, good to hear from you. Good luck this weekend.

Leana, I can't believe all those races you have done and will do in 2007! You are a machine girl.

SWDave, so impressed how you can whip off midweek 8 mile runs, go to work and then parent (very well, I might add).

Stephanie, Spoodles was our favorite meal last week. Spoodles and Kona Cafe were our top two. Bottom two were Chef de France (couldn't get into Le Cellier) and 50's Prime Time Cafe.:sad2: Our waitress basically ignored us the entire time, she had one big table she was interacting with most of the time. I guess a mom, a 10 yo and 8 yo weren't going to be heavy tippers!:sad2:

Nancy and Tricia, I am running inside as well. I couldn't possibly function the rest of the day if I attempted the runs outside.

patsBill, I too am doing Disney solo for the marathon. I think there are a handfull of us.

Shan, I can relate with the practicing thing! DS10 plays the guitar and DS8 the violin. Once they get into a groove, they like practicing, but once out of it, yikes, they think it is the worst thing in the world.

Beth, oh I am so envious of you Pump class. That is my all time favorite workout, but no one here offers it. I did it all the time in Canada when I lived there and I was really buff.

Sorry for those I missed. DD8 is having a slumber party tonight and they are getting restless.

Colleen

A quick post. Apparently Vic sent his cold down this way and I caught it. Training is on hold a little since it has totally wiped me out for some reason. I am hoping I can recover in time for my race next weekend. It does make it interesting when the kids want to play and I just want to sleep. I think Lynnda is secretly enjoying it since she doesn't get a break when she is sick.;)

Bill

She WILL be at the ToT -- she's running the 13K!
Unfortunately, DD has a band competition that weekend and refuses to give it up, so it looks like we're going to miss ToT. I keep threatening to go without her, but I get really angry looks. :rolleyes1 She also has a competition in Havelock the next Saturday and won't be home till around 2am, so I probably won't go with them since I'm running Raleigh the next morning, so I don't think I have any bargaining chips on this one!
