Wk of Aug 31 - WISH Walking/Running Club

Jeff - book your hotel room yesterday for the Masters! People in Aiken rent their houses out for the week so it gets kind of insane.

Thanks Cruella!

Right now I'm going solo, even though I have 4 tickets for Wednesday. So far none of my golfing buddies want to go, so I'm planning on what's cheapest for one person.

If one buddy does join me, then I can split the cost with him. He's waiting for permission from his wife. :lmao:

My wife knew the moment I got my letter that I was not going to be here in the second week in April. She sort of panicked until she realized her annual school trip to Washington D.C. is two weeks later. I told her our kids could fend for themselves. :rotfl2:

Jeff, jeff, jeff..... You do need to learn to chill. Maybe come to Florida and hang out in the Keys for awhile - those people know how to chill and relax. (Another trip and miles you would need to save up for.) I put my Sticker on my car along with my new Disney Mickey Sticker which I found at the store on Main Street.:cool1:

Me, I'm just sitting here in the recliner. I was sent home from work around 12:45pm. Not feeling too well and hacking up my lungs. So I decided to get some gas in the car tank and pick up groceries and meds on the way home in preparation for Hurricane Ike. Hopefully, Ike will be a "good boy" and just stay south and then die out in the Gulf somewhere.
I plan on some miles tomorrow morning, just not sure how many.

Take care all....

Coughing Tracy:rotfl2: (this is me coughing and rolling on the floor!)

Dr. J. says no miles tomorrow for patient RT. Rest, fluids, and sleep.

Let's see the WISH and Mickey stickers when you're feeling better. Be careful when washing your car, the fine details of the lettering are fragile.

Shan I feel your pain--literally! I went to the Doc yesterday who confirmed my IT bad problem. A contributing factor--weak hips. SO now I have hip abductor strenghtening exercises to do. He gave me Therabands, so I'm going to work diligently on that. . I tried an IT strap and the first few times--nothing. Finally readjusted it lower--practically on my knee and it does the track. Good luck in finding out what works for you.

Tracy Feel better!:flower3:

Cecilia Where did you see the EE clues?

Now off to figure out dinner (takeout).

Hi all!

I got in 4.75 miles in roughly 40 minutes today (8:45 pace). The weather was hotter and humider so I think that slowed me down a bit.
Unfortunately the internet went down for hours on campus, so my friends and I ended up walking a mile to the public library to print stuff off. So I guess that makes it 6.5 miles for the day. lol
We're suppose to have storms soon, but hopefully it won't be too bad.

Best,
Jennifer

Hey all, Just went out for an easy 2miles. I figured the vitD from the sun would be good and the breathing would help bring up and loosen the crap in my chest. (sorry for the graphic picture.)
Just watching the news trying to keep up with Hurricane Ike and where the heck he is going to go!!!!

So I'm not really do to start training until the end of the month, so until then I'll just keep at my reg miles and days or at least I'll do that when I'm feeling better.

Don't forget if you are planing on attending the POP WISH meet in Jan 09, please go to my thread. The link is in my Signature below.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Let's hope Ike dies a natural death (doesn't seem likely does it?)

Anyway my Galloway Group did 8 miles according to them... accoriding to my Garmin it was 7.5. Either way it was the longest I have gone since the Minnie. It got fairly warm towards the and the end was 'uphill' YIKES!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hello everyone! I was feeling well enough yesterday that I got out there and did an easy 3 miles. It felt really great to be moving again! Tomorrow I'll be doing my last LR before the Philadelphia Distance Run in 2 weeks. I'm very excited.

Hanna is pouring rain on us today, but I'm glad it doesn't seem to have done any real damage south of us. Let's hope Ike stays well south of Florida for all of you there (although I really feel sorry for Haiti - they've been repeatedly pounded this summer and don't have the resources to really deal with it).

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Looks like everyone is doing well.

I finished the week with 73 miles, average pace 8:38.

Highlights of the week.

Sun - 12.8 miles, 8:11 pace, including 3 miles at Tempo pace 7:00 mpm.

Wed - 12.0 miles, 8:21 pace, including 4 at Marathon pace 7:36 mpm.

Have a great week everyone!!!

David: :worship: :worship: I couldn't find the: time, energy or desire to run that many miles in a week. I am hitting just over 40 now and it is all I can do to get that.

Hi everyone! I went to the gym this morning hit the treadmill since Hanna :headache: is visiting us here all day today and into tonight. The treadmill just ate me up and spit me out. I had shin splints by mile 1 and had to pause it several times to stretch out. I managed 3 miles at an 8:55 pace and called it quits.

I came home, I took two Aleve and hit the streets. It was raining, but not too bad when I started out. The shin splints weren't even a issue outside where I normally run. :goodvibes I had 7 miles on the schedule for today and 17 for tomorrow :sad2: . Since I had three already done, I went out to finish the balance of the miles. I wound up running 6 instead of 4. I figured that I would just turn my 17 for tomorrow into a 15 which sounds a bit nicer and friendlier than 17. 90% of my run outside was in moderate rain and in some areas sustained winds. However, it was a warm rain. Unfortunately, it was hot and 100% humid. The air was like a wet wool blanket draped over my lungs.

So, with the combined runs, I ran:

Miles: 9
Time: 1:20:06
Pace: 8:54

Splits:
8:55
8:55
8:55
9:25
9:04
8:39
8:37
8:51
8:48

The rest of today will be relaxation and recouperating for tomorrow's LR.

Have a great night!

:grouphug:

Taking a break at halftime. Canes are down by 6, but hey that's better than the 24 point spread.

Here is the photos Jeff of my newly found old Mickey Sticker and the WISH sticker.

Have to get up and stretch out my very sore ribs and abs from coughing so much.

Take care, Tracy
